Shell Fleet Solutions bags two prestigious accolades at the Asian Experience Awards. The presenter recognizes excellence in delivering outstanding brand experiences across the Asian region. The awards, Philippines Distribution Experience of the Year – Energy and Philippines User Experience of the Year – Energy, acknowledge Shell’s significant efforts in enhancing partner and user experiences across multiple countries.
In collaboration with ride-hailing and delivery app Grab, Shell Pilipinas launched a nationwide Fleet Card distribution campaign to provide economic relief to drivers and foster mutual business growth. The campaign allowed Grab drivers a 7-day payment term for fuel purchases through the Shell Fleet Card. This campaign gave substantial economic relief for the dynamic nature of their work.
The distribution of fleet cards posed logistical challenges due to the mobile workforce of Grab drivers, leading to frequent redelivery requirements and increased courier expenses for Shell. To address this, Shell and Grab organized a “card distribution” activation that facilitated convenient and easy access for drivers to claim their Fleet Cards and use them at Shell Mobility stations. This initiative resulted in the distribution of over 3,000 fleet cards within five months and significantly reducing courier fees and doubling Grab’s volume growth with Shell.
This campaign earned the Philippines Distribution Experience of the Year – Energy award, showcasing Shell’s commitment to supporting partners and customers in challenging times and its innovative problem-solving approach.
The Philippines User Experience of the Year – Energy award recognized Shell’s efforts to address the significant presence and business demand of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines. Shell introduced the Shell Fleet App (SFA), a digital solution designed to streamline the fleet card application process and facilitate a transition to a cashless fuel management system for SMEs.
The Shell Fleet App offers real-time card management features, online payment, and monthly billing through electronic invoices, providing SMEs with security, convenience, and time-saving benefits. Launched in April 2022, the SFA received an overwhelmingly positive response, with over 1,000 SME customers registering within a year. Its result was a tenfold increase in SME customer acquisition.
Shell’s SFA is the first and only convenient digital bespoke solution of its kind in the Philippines, ensuring that no business is too small to benefit from the Shell Fleet Card. Continuous enhancements to the app’s features reflect Shell’s dedication to providing the best user experience.

Martha Borja, Country Head for Grab Financial Group Philippines (GPay Network), remarked, “We are steadfast in nurturing an ecosystem that effectively propels each of our driver-, delivery-, and merchant-partners towards a better future for themselves and their families. Initiatives like the Shell Fuel Card offer a critical financial lifeline to our driver-partners, enabling them to efficiently manage their finances despite economic headwinds, including fluctuations in fuel cost. We are blessed to embark on this journey with Shell, an esteemed partner who shares our vision of driving an inclusive and prosperous future for all our kababayans.”
“Shell Fleet App (SFA) is designed to empower small and medium enterprise (SME) owners to manage their fleet anytime, anywhere on their mobile phone. Winning the Best User Experience Award in the Philippines at the Asian Experience Awards is a testament to how this digital channel is transforming the way SMEs manage their fuel expenses, invoices, driver management, and more. We aim to ease their daily business operations, allowing them to spend less time on paperwork and admin and more time on growing their business. We will continue to enhance the SFA user experience, hoping that every SME in the Philippines will eventually reap the benefits from this app,” said Deepti Behl, Global Head of Small Medium Enterprises (SME), Shell Fleet Solutions.
