An important update is coming soon to the Suzuki Jimny

The Suzuki Jimny, which comes in 3-door and 5-door forms, meets the criteria of a rugged, functional, and fun off-road vehicle. But there is one very important criteria its 3-door version has not met yet; safety. Or more specifically, the ability to prevent or mitigate potential risks in occupant and pedestrian safety.

This is understandably worrisome for its target market, but it appears all hope is not lost yet. Word has it that Suzuki appears to have some significant updates on the way for the Jimny 3-door, and it is all about safety. According to a report by Japanese news outlet, Creative Trend, the Japanese brand will equip the Jimny 3-door with upgraded safety features, bringing it closer, spec-wise, to that of its Indian-made 5-door twin.

Creative Trend says that the updated 2025 Suzuki Jimny 3-door will break cover in Japan this August. It detailed that these updates will include such safety features as Adaptive Cruise Control, Dual Camera Brake Support, Reverse Brake Support, and Backward False Start Prevention. The report went on further, stating that the Dual Camera Brake Support feature will be available for both the manual and the 4-speed AT variants, while the rest in the list are exclusive only to the 4-speed AT.

Suzuki JIMNYFEST 2025

Apart from the above-mentioned updates, nothing else was disclosed. This means the upcoming upgraded Suzuki Jimny 2025 will have the same interior and exterior basic design and goodies.

Here in the Philippines, both the Suzuki Jimny 3-door and 5-door models are available and have amassed quite a following from many Filipino car buyers, most especially the off-road enthusiast. Suzuki Philippines saw the rising popularity, thus the successful staging of their recent JIMNYFEST 2025, a weekend of off-road fun and excitement with loyal owners of old and new Suzuki Jimny models. Moreover, Suzuki Philippines also brought in the Jimny 3-door and 5-door Rhino Editions with upgraded aesthetics to drive home the raw and rugged off-roading spirit.

Suzuki Philippines has yet to comment on possible adjustments to the Jimny 3-door inventory to match the global scene. We hope so because a few months back, Suzuki Philippines hinted at what, to us, could be a “probable pause” of the Jimny 3-door sales as said in their “call to attention” Jimny 3-door news seeding. Thankfully, the model is still actively listed on the Suzuki Philippines Official website.
