Suzuki Philippines is determined to carry its sales momentum from last year, as it introduced the updated 2026 Jimny 3-Door, which now comes equipped with the Suzuki Safety Support, bringing advanced driver-assist technology to one of the most iconic and capable 4×4 vehicles in its class.
The Suzuki Safety Support is a suite of preventive safety technologies designed to help avoid collisions and reduce driver fatigue. It is a driver-assist tech that’s also equipped with the Fronx Hybrid. The features included in the Suzuki Safety Support tech are the following: Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Weaving Alert, and High Beam Assist. Below is a rundown of each of the mentioned Suzuki Safety Support tech:
Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II)
The Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II) uses a camera and laser sensor to detect vehicles or pedestrians ahead. Should the DSBS II detect a potential collision, it would provide an audio or visual warning and automatically apply the Jimny 3-Door’s brakes if needed. Suzuki PH noted that the DSBS II is limited to the ability of the monocular camera and millimetre-wave radar sensor to detect obstacles and lanes. As such, the Japanese car brand reminds drivers not to rely on this system alone and always practice safe driving habits.
Adaptive Cruise Control
The adaptive cruise control uses radar and a camera to maintain your set speed. It also allows the vehicle to automatically adjust acceleration and braking depending on the speed of the vehicles ahead.
Lane Departure Prevention
The Lane Departure Prevention detects lane markings and provides steering assistance when the Jimny 3-Door is drifting outside its lane. This tech helps the vehicle to be centered within its lane.
Lane Departure Warning
The Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver by providing steering torque or vibrating the steering wheel when the Jimny 3-Door drifts outside the lane. It also alerts the driver by issuing audio and visual warnings.
Weaving Alert
This driver-assist system monitors driving patterns, and it sounds an audio alert similar to a buzzer and a warning display on the dashboard when it unusual drifting is detected.
High Beam Assist
This feature enhances night driving by automatically switching the headlights between high and low beams based on lighting conditions and nearby vehicles. Note: this system activates when the Jimny 3-Door is cruising 30 km/h or faster with the headlamp switch in auto position.
Aside from the driver-assist tech, Suzuki PH also equipped the Jimny 3-Door with practical updates. Starting with the new nine-inch infotainment touchscreen seen on the GLX trims. The updated Jimny 3-Door also comes with a new colored display on its information gauge cluster, which adds a modern appeal as compared to the red-orange graphics seen on the outgoing model.
Moreover, both the Jimny 3-Door GL and GLX trims get additional airbags, such as Front Side Airbags and Curtain Airbags, which further improve occupant safety in the event of a crash. Both Jimny 3-Door variants now also have front parking sensors, which comes handy when parking the vehicle or when navigating tight streets. Meanwhile, the Jimny 3-Door GL now features a reverse camera.
Under the hood, the updated Suzuki Jimny 3-Door still comes with the reliable 1.5-liter gasoline engine that delivers 102 PS and 130 Nm of torque. The engine can be mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. It also has the 4×4 ALL GRIP PRO drivetrain.
