Xiaomi’s performance-focused electric sedan has entered the virtual racing world, as the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra officially joins Gran Turismo 7 through the popular racing game’s latest content update. Announced in Beijing on January 28, 2026, the collaboration between the Chinese multi-segment tech giant and Gran Turismo 7’s game developer Polyphony Digital marks the first time a Xiaomi vehicle appears in the franchise.
In more detail, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was recently released for public availability on January 29, 2026, via Gran Turismo 7’s Update 1.67 on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms. Known for its meticulous attention to vehicle physics and authenticity, Gran Turismo is considered one of the most realistic racing simulators available. For many car brands, being included in the game is a notable achievement.
The partnership between Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital was first announced in June 2025, with development teams working closely to recreate the SU7 Ultra’s real-world performance in-game. Gran Turismo creator and producer Kazunori Yamauchi personally took the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra for a spin in various locations, including Beijing, Japan’s Tsukuba Circuit, and Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife to thoroughly evaluate the vehicle’s capabilities.

To further refine accuracy, a team of Xiaomi EV dynamics experts travelled to Polyphony Digital’s studio in Fukuoka, Japan, to assist engineers in replicating the sedan’s driving characteristics in the virtual environment. The result is intended to deliver a driving experience that is faithful to the SU7 Ultra’s real-world performance and handling.
The SU7 Ultra itself has drawn attention for its headline figures. It uses the brand’s in-house hyper tri-motor all-wheel-drive setup, combining dual electric motors to deliver a claimed 1,548 hp. The high-performance electric sedan sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, placing it as one of the fastest production EVs available in the market today.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra also made headlines after setting a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:04.957, which the brand says has established a new performance benchmark for electrified executive vehicles. With the SU7 Ultra now entering the gaming space, Xiaomi expands its reach beyond traditional automotive audiences, introducing its high-performance EV to millions of casual and professional sim racers worldwide.
Autocar’s Take
To us, Xiaomi’s entry into Gran Turismo 7 feels like a smart move at a time when car culture increasingly intersects with gaming. For many younger enthusiasts, virtual tracks are their first exposure to performance cars, and featuring the SU7 Ultra in such a well-respected racing simulator franchise gives the Chinese brand added credibility beyond tech circles.
More importantly, it places Xiaomi alongside legacy performance carmakers in a space where authenticity matters. If the in-game driving experience matches real-world numbers, this could significantly boost Xiaomi’s rapidly growing EV ambitions.
