Last week, we were treated by Motor Image Pilipinas, the local distributor of Subaru in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, to an off-road display of their new models here in the country.
Calling it the start of the “Subaru Adventure Tour Drive”, the event aims to showcase the ability of the new Subaru’s not only in the paved highways of the cities, but also ionside the rugged terrain of forests and mountains.
Highlighting the drive were the Forester SUV, Crosstrek and the Outback. These cars were driven all the way to Camp Well of our good friend Marc Soong in Daraitan, Tanay, deep inside the forests of the Sierra Madre ranges.
Now, mind you, while the area does have roads, these can be probably called proper roads 35% of the time. That means almost three fourths of the time, we were driving on rugged terrain. However, because of the unique all wheel drive and suspension of the Subaru, it was really quite an easy drive to the destination.
At Camp Well however, the cars were put through its paces, crossing rivers and crashing sand and rock surface riverside beds. This is where the Subaru Adventure Tour will begin their journey for those who want to test a Subaru.
