VinFast Philippines officially launched the Residual Value Guarantee (RVG) program in the country, which offers to buy back VinFast models, offering up to 90 percent of the original price. The pioneering program offers peace of mind and confidence to customers who are skeptical about transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs) but are concerned about the resale value of EVs.
The VinFast RVG program applies a guaranteed residual value plan based on a fixed annual depreciation schedule. A maximum guaranteed residual value of up to 90 percent can be offered after six months of use, based on inspection and program eligibility criteria. Up to 86 percent of the original value can be offered for VinFast models after one year of use, 78 percent after two years, and 70 percent after three years. The RVG program applies across VinFast Philippines’ lineup, from the VF 3 up to the VF 9.
“With a residual value guarantee of up to 90% of the vehicle’s list price, VinFast aims to make EV ownership more accessible and reassuring for Filipino consumers,” said VinFast Southeast Asia CEO Antonio Zara.
“When combined with our other support programs, we believe electric vehicles will soon become a natural and reliable choice for households and individual users across the Philippines. This program reflects our long-term commitment to the market and reinforces our strong belief in the quality of our products.”
VinFast Philippines clarified that the RVG program is open to customers who have paid for their units in full and are the registered owners of the vehicle. Clients who purchased their VinFast units via financing option should coordinate with their financing institution first before offering their unit up for the RVG buy-back program.
The RVG program is just one of the many customer-centric initiatives aimed at encouraging more Filipino car buyers to transition to electric vehicles. Among these initiatives are the vehicle warranty of up to 10 years, three years of free charging at stations operated by strategic partner V-Green, flexible financing options, and 24-hour technical support and roadside assistance.
Zara also shared that the RVG is an integral part of the ecosystem that Vin Group intends to nurture. As per Zara, VinFast units acquired through RVG will either be sold through VinFast Philippines’ guaranteed pre-owned program or be utilized in the brand’s TNVS efforts.
The brand also shared that expansion of distribution and service network in key locations in the Philippines, as well as further developing a comprehensive EV ecosystem, are slated for the next phase of development for VinFast Philippines.
