American carmaker, Tesla, marked its first year of operations in the Philippines by emerging as the country’s top-selling electric vehicle (EV) brand in 2025, according to industry and government data.
Based on the latest data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), Tesla accounted for approximately 54% of total EV sales in the country, with more than 2,200 units delivered since its local entry in early 2025. The figures placed Tesla ahead of other EV brands operating in the Philippines, reflecting growing consumer interest on battery-electric vehicles (BEV).
Aside from its strong sales performance, another highlight of Tesla Philippines’ first year was its successful participation at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Fuel Economy Run 2025. Held along the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), the annual test evaluates the real-world energy efficiency of participating vehicles across multiple powertrain categories.

In the DOE run, the Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive recorded the highest efficiency rating among all participating vehicles, achieving 92.31 km/Lge (kilometers per liter of gasoline equivalent). Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive registered an efficiency figure of 84.63 km/Lge, placing it among the top performers, not only in the EV category, but also against plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and entries powered by traditional internal combustion engines (ICE).
Charging infrastructure development has also expanded along with the brand’s growing population of local Tesla owners. As of late 2025, Tesla operates three Supercharging stations nationwide, offering a total of 12 Superchargers, in addition to six Destination Charging locations with 24 charging points. The company reports that more than 2,000 local Tesla owners also have home charging capability, allowing for regular overnight charging.

To further support EV adoption, Tesla has rolled out several ownership programs in the Philippine market. These include a referral system that provides credits to both existing and new customers, as well as a limited complimentary insurance offer Model Y that runs until December 31, 2025, subject to availability.
