German carmaker Porsche has taken a major step in the evolution of its SUV lineup with the official unveiling of the first fully electric Cayenne. The model presents a pivotal moment for the brand, introducing an all-electric powertrain to one of its most successful vehicles while maintaining the performance identity that defined the Cayenne for over 20 years.
Developed from the ground up, the Cayenne Electric blends Porsche’s traditional engineering focus with new electric technologies tailored to improve efficiency, responsiveness, and day-to-day usability. The company describes the Cayenne Electric as one of the most extensive redesigns in the nameplate’s history, involving a new platform, upgraded chassis system, and major advancements in high-voltage battery and charging technology.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric comes in two variants – the standard Cayenne Electric and the more powerful Turbo Electric. Porsche notes that the standard trim delivers up to 442 hp and 835 Nm of torque under Launch control, offering strong acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 230 km/h. The Turbo Electric, on the other hand, pushes 1,156 hp and 1,500 Nm under Launch Control, with a 0 to 100 km/h sprint rate of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h.
Both trims feature a 113 kWh high-voltage battery, enabling the Cayenne Electric and Turbo Electric to achieve driving ranges of 642 km and 623 km, respectively. The battery is managed by an 800-volt system architecture that enables fast charging. Under ideal conditions, Porsche says that the battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% in roughly 16 minutes, making long-distance travel more practical for EV users.

The cabin has been redesigned as well, showcasing the brand’s latest approach to digital integration. Central to the layout is the new Flow Display, a curved OLED panel positioned to deliver clearer driving information while contributing to a more modern dashboard aesthetic. This is complemented by a 14.25-inch OLED central touchscreen and a 14.9-inch optional passenger display. Despite the technological shift, Porsche emphasises that the interior maintains the premium materials, comfort, and overall refinement expected from a Cayenne.
Beyond performance, the Porsche Cayenne Electric aims to strengthen the vehicle’s reputation as a versatile everyday SUV. The brand highlights improvements in ride comfort, efficiency, and range, positioning the model as a practical option for families and long-distance drivers transitioning to electrified mobility.
