The next-generation Nissan Navara has officially made its global debut, featuring a bolder design along with a retuned suspension system that bids goodbye to the use of rear coil springs. Nissan said that the next-gen Navara delivers “uncompromising capability” that’s driven to meet the demands of modern life.

It’s no secret that the next-gen Navara is built on the same platform as the Mitsubishi Triton, which is due to the two automakers’ shared platform and engineering ties under the Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. This explains why the new Navara has a similarity with the Mitsubishi Triton, especially when you look at it from the front end.

But the next-gen Navara comes with its own distinctive design that separates it from its Mitsubishi pickup truck sibling. Up front, the new Nissan Navara has a commanding presence, thanks to its large bull bar-inspired V-strut grille that’s complemented by a beefy bumper. It is also fitted with a three-slot design that can be seen on top of the front grille, a nod to the D21 Navara.

The Nissan Navara is also equipped with C-shaped headlights that interlock seamlessly with the grille. If you look closely, you’ll notice that a ‘Navara’ lettering is integrated into the headlight cluster.

The next-gen Navara’s side profile comes with similar design cues seen on the Mitsubishi Triton, which is again expected due to the Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. Of note, the top-spec Navara PRO-4X trim features a black finish on exterior design elements and ‘Lava red’ accents. It also has a black sports bar, black 17-inch wheels, and a standard towbar.

One of the biggest changes to the next-gen Nissan Navara is its suspension system. It now comes with a rear leaf spring as compared to having a rear coil setup seen on the outgoing model. Nissan tapped Australian engineering specialist, Premcar, to tune and test the next-gen Navara’s leaf springs.

Step inside the next-gen Nissan Navara and you’ll be greeted with a familiar interior that’s essentially lifted from the Triton’s straightforward dashboard layout. Even the climate control buttons and the center console are the same as what you can see with Mitsubishi’s midsize pickup truck.

The next-gen Nissan Navara comes standard with a nine-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The PRO-4X trim also gets wireless smartphone charging, conveniently located within the lower instrument panel.

Safety remains paramount in the Navara’s design, with eight airbags providing comprehensive protection for occupants. The vehicle features a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including: Emergency Lane Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist, Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control, among others.

Under the hood, the next-gen Nissan Navara gets the same 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine found in the Mitsubishi Triton. The said engine delivers 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque, connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The new Navara PRO-4X models come with Nissan’s Super 4WD system, which is the equivalent of Mitsubishi’s Super Select II 4WD. As of this writing, Nissan stated that all of the next-gen Navara will come with a six-speed automatic gearbox along with a dual-cab body.

Sales will begin in 2026 for the Australian market. As for its Philippine debut, Nissan Philippines Inc. previously said that product launches in other markets do not automatically indicate a local release.
