Mober, a pioneer in green logistics in the Philippines, took center stage in the country’s celebration of World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day on September 9, hosting a pivotal forum titled “Leading the Way in Green Logistics: A Forum on Moving Together for a Carbon-Free Philippines.” The event focused on accelerating the adoption of commercial electric vehicles, a crucial step toward reducing carbon emissions within the logistics sector, which is a major contributor to global CO2 emissions.
The forum brought together key figures from government, the private sector, and other enabling organizations, all aligned in their vision to promote the widespread use of EVs in commercial operations across the country.
“World EV Day is more than a celebration—it’s a call to action. The transition to sustainable logistics requires collaboration between government, businesses, and consumers,” said Mober CEO Dennis Ng. “At Mober, we believe green logistics is essential for a carbon-free future, and we are proud to lead by example. This forum reinforces our commitment to inspiring others to join us in creating a cleaner, greener Philippines.”
Now in its fifth year since its inception in 2020, World EV Day unites stakeholders globally—from businesses and policymakers to thought leaders—to raise awareness and encourage the transition to electric vehicles.
The event featured a keynote address from Hon. Jesus Ferdinand “Andy” Ortega, Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure at the Department of Transportation (DOTr). Ortega underscored the government’s dedication to advancing the country’s EV transformation, stating, “We must fast-track the transition to EVs. By promoting EVs and active transport, the Philippines is moving toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with our commitments under the Paris Agreement and national development goals.”
He also reiterated the government’s strong support for the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) and other key initiatives, such as Executive Order No. 12, aimed at stimulating the EV market, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and cutting down transport-related emissions.
The forum featured two dynamic panel discussions. The first, moderated by Guillermo “Bill” Luz, Chairman of Liveable Cities Philippines, explored challenges and opportunities in the commercial EV space. Panelists included Undersecretary Ortega; Zion Yuson, Project Evaluation Officer III at DOTr; Anton Mauricio, Undersecretary and General Manager of the National Development Company (NDC); Rachel Santiago-Sacro, Country Manager at Clime Capital; and Wai Chew Chia, Chief Commercial Officer at Mober.
Mauricio emphasized the need for investment in the broader energy ecosystem, saying, “At NDC, we aim to instill confidence in emerging industries. By strategically investing in energy storage, renewables, and EVs, we’re working to attract more capital and drive innovation for a sustainable future.”

The second panel, which included leaders from top brands such as IKEA, Kuehne+Nagel, Nestlé Philippines, and Rustan Coffee Corporation (Starbucks), highlighted corporate strategies for achieving sustainability through green logistics. Panelists expressed optimism about integrating EVs into their supply chains, aligning their initiatives with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event, held in collaboration with media partners Manila Bulletin, BusinessMirror, BusinessWorld, The Manila Times, Manila Standard, and Malaya Business Insight, highlighted Mober’s continued commitment to advancing sustainable logistics solutions in the Philippines.
