Mitsubishi’s all-new Destinator SUV has struck gold for Best Industrial Product Design at the 2025 VMARK Vietnam Design Awards, ahead of its Vietnam launch later this year. This places the Destinator as the third consecutive Mitsubishi model to receive the coveted accolade, following the Mitsubishi Xforce compact SUV in 2023 and the Triton pickup in 2024.

The VMARK Vietnam Design Awards is organized by the VDAS Design Association and is held annually in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It honors outstanding achievements in design and innovation. This year’s competition drew 531 participants from Vietnam and around the world, with a panel of 46 international design experts as judges. Submissions were evaluated based on several criteria, including innovativeness, eco-friendliness, identity, functionality, and community impact.

Of the hundreds of participants, only 18 came out to receive the Gold distinction, among these was the Mitsubishi Destinator.

First introduced in late 2024 and premiered in July this year in Indonesia, the Mitsubishi Destinator is a mid-size 7-seat SUV built under the theme “Gravitas & Dynamism.” The design blends a commanding stance with dynamic proportions and a spacious interior. Its “Gravitas” aspect emphasizes strength and presence, while “Dynamism” highlights motions and versatility through features such as high ground clearance and sizzle 18-inch wheels.

Inside, the Mitsubishi destinator offers a premium cabin designed for comfort across all three rows. Mitsubishi says the Destinator is engineered to deliver strong acceleration, stable handling, and reliable performance across a multitude of road and driving conditions – qualities the company considers essential for its new global SUV line.

“Since unveiling the concept car of the Destinator in Vietnam this past June, we have received strong interest and high expectations for the production model. This design award provides powerful momentum for the year-end launch in Vietnam. We believe that the Destinator will bring a true seven-seater SUV for families, with its refined design and a premium interior ensuring comfort for all passengers,” shared Hiroaki Ozawa, Head of Sales and Marketing Division, Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MMV).

Already an award-winner in just a few months after its global debut, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has confirmed its local debut. It even “teased” the SUV on its official Facebook account last September, hinting that it could come soon. The question in mind now is when? We’ll soon find out.
