MG Philippines has introduced a new vehicle to its model lineup, following the previous car launches this year, namely the ZS Hybrid+ and the TRQ L pickup truck. This time around, MG PH officially debuts the HS Hybrid+, which is the car brand’s five-seater compact crossover.

The HS Hybrid+ is MG PH’s challenger to the likes of the Ford Territory, Toyota Corolla Cross, and BYD Sealion 6, among others. The MG HS Hybrid+ features a sharp exterior design, highlighted by its confident front end.

At first glance, you can’t miss the vehicle’s large front grille, which is accentuated by the angular bumper. It also comes with Matrix LED headlights, along with daytime running lights and fog lights that further emphasize the HS Hybrid+’s sharp exterior look.

Turning at the side, the MG HS Hybrid+ features prominent fender flares, crisp character lines, and silver and gloss-black accents. It also has power-folding and power-adjustable side mirrors and roof rails. One can also help but notice the vehicle’s 19-inch black alloy wheels, wrapped in 225/55 R19 Bridgestone Alenza tires. Of note, the MG HS Hybrid+ comes with disc brakes on all four wheels.

The rear also features a sharp-looking design, complemented by LED taillights that run the length of the vehicle, creating a double-bladed, sword-like pattern. The MG HS Hybrid+ also features a roof-mounted spoiler, roof rails, a hands-free power tailgate, and a rear fog light for added visibility in extreme weather.

Inside, it has a black interior theme with a splash of silver and gloss black trims. It has a streamlined, neat dashboard layout, highlighted by a unified screen featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The MG HS Hybrid+ also has a wireless phone charger, dual-zone automatic air con, an air purifier, and rear air conditioning vents. Adding to the list of interior features are the push-start button, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, electronic parking brake with auto brake hold, and a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of safety, the MG HS Hybrid+ has a five-star Euro NCAP and ANCAP rating, providing peace of mind to its future owners. It is also equipped with MG Pilot driver-assist safety technology, including adaptive cruise control, intelligent cruise assist, active emergency braking, blind spot alert system, and lane keeping assist system, among others.

It also comes equipped with seven airbags (front, side, and curtain airbags), front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist, hill hold control, and a 360-degree view camera.

Under the hood, the MG HS Hybrid+ is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor that drives the front wheels through a two-speed hybrid transmission. The engine and the electric motor produce a total power output of 221 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque. The MG HS Hybrid+ also has a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery.

MG Philippines is offering the HS Hybrid+ with a special introductory price of P1,388,888. It is also offered with five years of roadside assistance, a seven-year warranty, and an eight-year battery warranty.
