The hotly contested local midsize SUV segment has become more competitive as the “Ber” months approach. Case in point, Jetour Auto Philippines recently adjusted the pricing of its 7-seat SUV, the X70 Lightning i-DM.
Now, this plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) starts at P1,498,000, which is a notable P150,000 cheaper than its original selling price. The move comes as the brand responds to growing demand from Filipino car buyers for vehicles that combine space, fuel efficiency, and modern features at a more accessible price point.
The Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM is equipped with a dual-motor system, pairing an electric drive with a gasoline engine. As a PHEV, it offers flexibility for both city driving and long-distance travel. For shorter trips such as daily commutes or quick errands within Metro Manila, the X70 Lightning i-DM can run on pure electric mode alone for about 110 km, providing a quieter, more fuel-efficient driving experience. For longer journeys, its turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine provides extended range. Together, the powertrain allows the SUV to cover 1,200 km on a full tank and full charge.
Inside, the Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM offers a spacious three-row cabin with soft-touch panels. It also features a wide infotainment screen and a digital instrument panel. It also offers smartphone connectivity and wireless charging.

While he didn’t disclose further details, he hinted that the new model will create a new niche in the market, offering modern features, practicality, and affordability.
