Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) officially introduced Mr. Mikio Tsukui as its new President during a formal turnover ceremony attended by media representatives and influencers. This momentous event signifies a key milestone in the company’s leadership transition.
Mr. Tsukui succeeds Mr. Tetsuya Fujita, who returns to Isuzu Motors Limited in Japan after a successful tenure at the helm of IPC. With over three decades of experience within the Isuzu Group, Mr. Tsukui brings extensive leadership expertise from his previous roles in China, Europe, and ASEAN markets. His contributions in enhancing Isuzu’s market presence and operational efficiency globally position him to steer IPC towards continued growth and innovation.
Under Mr. Fujita’s leadership, IPC launched several pivotal initiatives, including the “Road to Progress” campaign, which generated public interest in sustainable transport and the future of Isuzu EV trucks. He also led the modernization of the company’s dealer network and introduced lifestyle activities like Overlanding trips, further solidifying IPC’s position in the market. These initiatives will be carried forward under Mr. Tsukui’s leadership as he works to propel the company to new heights.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Tsukui expressed his dedication to building on IPC’s legacy. “I am privileged to lead Isuzu Philippines Corporation and continue our mission of delivering reliable and innovative transport solutions. Together with our dedicated team, we will work to enhance our services and drive growth in the Philippine automotive industry,” he said.
Mr. Tsukui’s vision for IPC includes reinforcing Isuzu’s leadership as the top truck brand in the Philippines, expanding its presence in the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment, and continuing to expand IPC’s dealership network nationwide. These strategic objectives are aimed at increasing market share and strengthening IPC’s foothold in the competitive automotive landscape.
“As competition in the market intensifies, I believe IPC is well-positioned for continued success,” Mr. Tsukui stated. “Our robust product lineup and excellent aftersales service distinguish us in the market, and our vehicles’ durability and long-term value have earned the trust of Filipino customers.”
The leadership change comes on the heels of IPC’s unveiling of the 2025 Isuzu mu-X at the Manila International Auto Show, marking the start of an exciting new phase for the company. With an emphasis on innovation and customer-centric upgrades, IPC is set to accelerate its marketing, dealership expansion, and customer engagement efforts to enhance its position in the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
Mr. Tsukui’s extensive international experience and strategic direction are expected to drive IPC’s continued dominance in the truck category while expanding the company’s reach in the high-potential LCV segment, ensuring sustained growth and long-term customer satisfaction.
