The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has listed down the top five traffic violations in 2025 based on the records of its Traffic Ticket Management Division.
Earning the top spot in the most frequent traffic violations in 2025 is Illegal Turning, a violation that covers unsafe driving, which includes turning from an incorrect lane, as well as ignoring traffic signs such as “No Left Turn” or “No Right Turn,” among others. Illegal Turning has a corresponding fine of P150, according to the MMDA’s list of traffic violation codes.
The second top traffic violation in 2025 is Unattended Illegal Parking. The MMDA has been constantly initiating clearing operations, especially along Mabuhay Lanes, to discourage vehicle owners from parking their vehicles on the street to alleviate traffic in the metro. The fine for the Unattended Illegal Parking is P2,000 with impoundment.
The third on the list is Disregarding Traffic Signs, a traffic violation that comes with a penalty of P1,000. The said traffic violation is when a driver ignores road signs like Stop, No Entry, or speed limits. Road or traffic signs are important and are placed for a reason since they are meant to ensure orderly traffic flow, as well as prevent accidents by alerting drivers to hazards.

The fourth top traffic violation in 2025, as per the MMDA, is the Number Coding Scheme. As a review, the MMDA is implementing the expanded number coding scheme from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, except holidays. Under the expanded number coding, vehicles are prohibited from traveling on Metro Manila roads during designated coding hours, based on the last digit of their license plates: Monday – 1 & 2; Tuesday – 3 & 4; Wednesday – 5 & 6; Thursday – 7 & 8; and Friday – 9 & 0. Violating this traffic regulation results in a P500 fine.
The fifth most common traffic violation in 2025 is Attended Illegal Parking, which has a fine of P1,000. Recently, the MMDA reported that it has issued tickets to over 150 motorists during its anti-illegal parking operations in several areas in Quezon City, led by the agency’s Special Operations Group-Task Force for Road Clearing.
