Hongqi updates flagship EV models, teases new PHEV

Hongqi Philippines just added to its lineup, with the launch of the updated E-HS9 and E-QM5 Plus. The event was held at the TDG In.Hub Atrium in Taguig, where the new vehicles were on display. These enhanced versions are their popular models in the market and now offer the Filipino customer an additional option.

While the exteriors of both vehicles haven’t changed, the new variants’ updates are substantial, boasting increased range on a single charge.

The Hongqi EHS9 has an upgraded driving range of 515 kilometers on a single charge, making for a massive step up from the ES9’s driving range of 440 kilometers per charge.

The new E-HS9 full-sized electric SUV now has a maximum range of 515 kilometers, over the previous E-HS9’s driving range of 440 kilometers. The updated E-HS9 also now rolls on larger 22-inch rims from the previous 21s, and audio entertainment is also now elevated to a premium BOSE sound system with 16 speakers.

Retailing at P1,880,000, the Hongqi E-QM5 packs top-tier interior comfort with a powerful driving range of 500 kilometers on a single charge.

The E-QM5 Plus mid-sized executive sedan now has a 560-kilometer range over its “regular” E-QM5, which has a 460-kilometer range on a full charge and also now has ventilated seats.

The E-HS9 Flagship will be sold at P6,480,000, while the E-QM5 Plus will be sold at P1,880,000.

With its re-entry into the Philippine market this year, Hongqi continues to roll out models that marry comfort, luxury, performance, and sustainability.

At the same event, the Hongqi HS3 PHEV was teased. It is a luxurious five-seat compact SUV powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a 225 hp electric motor, which, when combined, can give over 1400 kilometers of hybrid range or 115 kilometers of pure electric range. It can go from zero to 100kmh in 7.6 seconds, fast charge (DC) in 19 minutes, and has a 3.3kW Vehicle to Load function (V2L).

It has a spacious, high-tech cabin, advanced driver and safety systems. Hongqi boasts this new PHEV will have “a fully electric driving feel”, combining instant power, exceptional acoustic refinement, and a sophisticated ride. Blending innovation, efficiency, and luxury.
