Green GSM, an all-electric taxi fleet of VinFast models, has donated P3 million to the Cebu Archdiocesan Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Church (CACCHC) to help restore the 140-year-old Archdiocesan Shrine of Santa Rosa de Lima, which has been damaged during the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck the province last September 30, 2025.

Green GSM Southeast Asia Managing Director Dao Quy Phi met with Fr. Brian Brigoli, who is the Chairman of the CACCHC, for a ceremonial turnover of the all-electric taxi company’s donation. The ceremonial turnover was held at the church site in Daanbantayan and was attended by local officials, church representatives, and members of the Green GSM team.

The recovery phase, carried out in collaboration with the Cebu Archdiocese and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), is expected to take six to nine months. The recovery or the restoration will follow historical reconstruction standards by using traditional techniques and authentic materials to preserve its heritage character. The full restoration is expected to take several years as detailed architectural and artistic reconstruction is needed.

CACCHC Chairman Fr. Brigoli expressed his gratitude for Green GSM’s kind gesture, and he is looking forward to an ongoing partnership to protect the province’s heritage structures.

“This collaboration demonstrates how local and private partners can unite to protect our shared heritage. We are deeply thankful for Green GSM’s concern and their help in preserving this sacred site. On behalf of the Archdiocese and the Heritage Commission, we sincerely thank you and look forward to an ongoing partnership with the Filipino people,” said Fr. Brigoli.

For Green GSM, this initiative reflects the company’s commitment to walk alongside local communities through recovery and renewal.

“At Green GSM, we believe that true progress begins with care for people, for culture, and for the places we serve. What happened in Cebu reminds us that sustainability is not only about technology or transport but also about the resilience and spirit that keep communities united in adversity,” Dao Quy Phi expressed.
