Geely Philippines Ventures into Electric Vehicles with the Launch of Geely Geometry C EV Brand

Geely distributor Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) has taken an unexpected leap into the local electric vehicle (EV) market with the unveiling of its inaugural EV offering in the Philippines – the Geometry C. This strategic move marks Geely’s foray into the burgeoning EV sector, positioning itself to capitalize on the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.

The Geometry C emerges as a compelling option within the EV landscape, boasting a striking blend of contemporary design elements and advanced technological features. Its exterior exudes a sense of dynamism, characterised by sleek lines and a distinctive sloping roof design that lends it a modern aesthetic appeal.

Adorning the front facade are captivating LED headlights and a streamlined grille, emphasizing the vehicle’s futuristic allure. Noteworthy design accents include the seamlessly integrated door handles, expansive panoramic sunroof, intricately crafted LED taillights, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels, all contributing to its distinctive presence on the road.

Stepping inside, the Geometry C envelops occupants in a realm of cutting-edge innovation and comfort. The cabin is adorned with a host of futuristic amenities, including a fully digital instrument cluster and a sizable 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which serves as the focal point of the interior space. Complementing this technological suite are features such as a heads-up display (HUD) and automatic climate control with advanced filtration capabilities, ensuring a refined and enjoyable driving experience.

Safety is paramount in the Geometry C, with an array of intelligent driver assistance systems designed to enhance peace of mind on the road. These include blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, and lane-keeping assist, empowering drivers with added confidence and control behind the wheel.

While official specifications for the Geometry C in the Philippine market are yet to be disclosed, insights from its availability in the People’s Republic of China shed light on its performance capabilities. Equipped with a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering a single electric motor, the Geometry C delivers an impressive output of 200 PS and 310 Nm of torque, enabling brisk acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. With a claimed range of 485 km on a full charge, the Geometry C offers ample driving range for urban commutes and long-distance journeys alike.

SGAP is gearing up for the official launch of the Geometry C in the Philippines, although specific details regarding the timeline and pricing remain undisclosed. However, SGAP has hinted at positioning the Geometry C competitively within the market, aiming to rival contenders such as the BYD Atto 3 while potentially offering a price point below PHP 1.6 million. This strategic approach underscores Geely’s commitment to democratizing EV adoption and making sustainable mobility accessible to a broader audience.

Geely’s entry into the Philippine EV market with the Geometry C signifies a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards electrification. With its blend of captivating design, advanced technology, and competitive pricing, the Geometry C is poised to make waves in the EV segment, setting new standards for eco-friendly mobility in the Philippines and beyond.
