After its recent brand relaunch in the Philippines, Chinese carmaker, Geely, through its official local distributor, Geely Motor Philippines Corporation (GMP), is making a big push to let Filipinos know more about Geely and its models. Part of this push is a series of mall-based displays, featuring the Geely EX5 Max and the Geely Okavango Elite.
According to GMP, the mall tour will be held at the Alabang Town Center or ATC this August 14-17, 2025. Then, another mall event will take place on August 28 to September 3, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia. There, visitors can take a closer look at the Geely EX5 Max small electric SUV and the Geely Okavango Elite hybrid SUV. They’ll also be able to learn more about the vehicles’ features, and schedule a test drive to experience how the cars behave on the road.
Geely Philippines says the mall tours are timely to provide car buyers with choices, seeing the rising fuel costs and growing interest in EVs and hybrids. And one of these choices is the Geely EX5 Max.

The EX5 Max is powered by what Geely labels as its “11-in-1” electric drive motor system, which is paired with a 60.22 KWh battery pack. With this powerplant, the Geely EX5 Max is able to generate 160 hp and 320 Nm of torque.
The battery pack yields around 420 km of range in a single charge. Geely Philippines says it also solved the common issue of range anxiety by engineering the battery to support both standard and fast charging. When using a standard EV charger, the battery can be fully charged for around six hours. On the other hand, fast chargers can fill it up from 30% to 80% in under 20 minutes.
When GMP launched the EX5 Max last June, it also launched the Okavango Elite to serve as its entry in the hybrid and midsize SUV segment. Geely takes pride in the Okavango Elite’s spacious interior, featuring seven individual seats that can be configured to increase passenger or cargo space. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor that delivers 190 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

The Geely EX5 Max and Okavango Elite are retailed at P1.79-million and P1.36-million, respectively. GMP is also launching a promo to complement the mall activities. Interested buyers who’ll be able to secure a purchase of the Geely EX5 Max until September 25, 2025, will also get a free Meizu Note 22 smartphone as part of the package.
