DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has been awarded the E-mobility Award for EV Technology Adoption at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (eVAP). This prestigious recognition highlights companies driving electric vehicle (EV) adoption in local logistics operations, and DHL Express is proud to be one of the leaders in this movement.
Since deploying its first electric vehicles (EVs) in 2021, DHL Express has continuously expanded its electric fleet, currently operating 47 EVs in the Philippines, making up 24% of its total vehicle fleet. This is part of DHL’s broader global goal to electrify 60% of its last-mile delivery vehicles by 2030.
The E-mobility Award underscores DHL Express’s commitment to sustainability, particularly in reducing the environmental impact of logistics operations through electrification. The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (eVAP) has long championed the economic and environmental benefits of electric vehicles, and DHL Express’s efforts are a key part of advancing this mission.
“We are immensely honored to be recognized for our sustainability efforts, particularly in reducing the environmental impact of our logistics operations. This award is a testament to our ongoing dedication as a responsible corporate citizen and our commitment to decarbonization. At DHL Express, we are focused on integrating advanced technologies like electric vehicles into our fleet, in line with our global decarbonization goals. This recognition validates our current efforts and motivates us to keep pushing for innovation as we work towards becoming the ‘Green Logistics of Choice,’” said Nigel Lockett, Country Manager of DHL Express Philippines.
In 2023, DHL Express launched the GoGreen Plus service, which allows customers to offset the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with their international air freight by utilizing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Through partnerships with bp, Neste, and World Energy, DHL Express continues to lead in sustainable logistics. SAF, produced from renewable energy and sustainable biomass, plays a vital role in reducing the carbon footprint of the company’s air freight network, which accounts for approximately 68% of its total emissions.

The launch of GoGreen Plus is part of DHL Group’s commitment to achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2050, underscoring the company’s dedication to sustainable solutions across all areas of logistics.
