This range-extended EV system provides a total driving distance of more than 1,000 kilometers, perfect for both city commutes and long-distance travel while offering significant fuel savings.
The SUV features a permanent synchronous magnet motor paired with an 18.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Ultra-Safe BYD Blade Battery, powering the front wheels through an E-CVT. This setup generates 197 PS and 325 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to travel approximately 105 kilometers in Full EV mode without emissions. When combined with the range extender, the total power output reaches 217 PS, maintaining the same torque.
Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds, the Sealion 6 DM-i excels in Extended-Range mode, achieving a total driving distance of over 1,000 kilometers.
Conquering 1,608 Kilometers: Maximum Range, Maximum Efficiency
On July 20-22, 2024, two Sealion 6 DM-i SUVs embarked on a challenging journey from Bonifacio Global City, tackling the Luzon Loop. Driven by long-distance experts Georges and Louis Ramirez, the SUVs covered a total distance of 1,297.6 kilometers with remaining battery and range extender capacity. Extending the journey to Subic Bay, the SUVs ultimately achieved a total distance of 1,608 kilometers on one full charge and range extender tank.
This four-day test, observed by the Automobile Association Philippines, demonstrated the Sealion 6 DM-i’s capabilities, confirming its potential for long-distance travel under real-world conditions.
