Bianca Bustamante debuts in 2025 GB3 Championship with Elite Motorsport

Filipino racing sensation Bianca Bustamante has made a significant leap in her motorsport career by securing a spot in the prestigious 2025 GB3 Championship, representing the UK-based Elite Motorsport team. Her highly anticipated debut in the series is slated for April 2025 at the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

After concluding her journey in the F1 Academy at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December, the 19-year-old rising star is setting her sights on this new challenge. With F1 Academy regulations limiting drivers to a maximum of two seasons, Bustamante wrapped up her final year with McLaren Racing in 2024, having been part of the series since its inception in 2023. Her transition to the GB3 Championship marks a vital step in her quest to ascend the motorsport ladder, providing valuable experience in faster, high-downforce cars as she aims for a future in Formula 3. This milestone also represents her first full season competing in single-seaters on a mixed-gender grid.

For the 2025 season, Bustamante will pilot the cutting-edge Tatuus MSV GB3-025 race car. This latest iteration sets a new standard for junior single-seater racing, featuring advancements like the Drag Reduction System (DRS), a reengineered chassis, and F1-inspired aerodynamics that deliver a 35% boost in downforce over its predecessor. Additionally, its upgraded two-litre Mountune engine generates an impressive 280 horsepower, a notable increase from the previous model’s 250 horsepower. Bustamante has already gained momentum with a series of promising test sessions in the older-spec GB3 car under Elite Motorsport’s guidance.

The 2025 GB3 Championship calendar comprises eight rounds held across premier circuits, equally split between four European venues and four in the UK. The season kicks off on April 26-27 at Silverstone and culminates on October 18-19 at the legendary Monza Circuit in Italy. A standout feature of the GB3 series is the extensive track time afforded to drivers, including numerous testing opportunities and three races per weekend, culminating in a total of 24 races throughout the season.
