Bautista to new LTO chief: do your job with honesty, integrity

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista expressed his support to newly-appointed Land Transportation Office (LTO) Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, urging him to address issues hounding the agency such as the shortage of license cards and motor vehicle plates shortage.

Secretary Bautista administered Asec. Mendoza’s oath on Tuesday.

“I know that Atty. Mendoza will be able to do the job. He has all the qualifications, training and experience,” Secretary Bautista said.

“Alam niya ‘yung mga problema at mga possible solutions sa ating mga problems,” he added.

With Asec. Mendoza’s expertise in the transport sector, issues surrounding the LTO will be addressed within the year, according to Secretary Bautista.

“Yung problema natin sa plaka, problema natin sa lisensya ay mareresolve po natin ‘yan within the year. With the finalizations of the procurement of the plates, nagkaroon na nga ng delivery last week and today, ‘yung delivery naman ng ating mga license cards ay mangyayari na,” Secretary Bautista explained.

In a related development, Secretary Bautista and Asec. Mendoza on Tuesday received at least 5,000 plastic cards for the driver’s licenses from Banner Plasticard, Inc. as part of its 1 million delivery in the next 60 days.

Secretary Bautista said Banner Plasticard, Inc. will make the delivery of over 5,000 every week and has committed to deliver 5.2 million plastic cards by year end.

“Baka every week, by delivery 1 million yan eh, 1 million in 60 days so merong time na mas marami pa d’yan,” he said.
