Aston Martin introduces the new Vantage Roadster, the convertible counterpart to the acclaimed Vantage Coupe. Launched in 2024, the Vantage Roadster builds upon Aston Martin’s legacy of delivering sector-defining luxury and dynamic performance, elevating the driving experience to new heights.
Powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine generating 665 PS and 800 Nm of torque, the Vantage Roadster matches the coupe’s class-leading performance and exhilaration while adding the thrill of open-air driving. With a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph, this state-of-the-art British sports car broadens its appeal by combining breathtaking performance with roof-down freedom.
The Vantage Roadster’s design ensures it retains the style, freedom, and adventure expected of a convertible without compromising performance. With minimal weight increase, it features the fastest-operating fully automatic roof on the market, offering an uncompromised convertible experience. Its design heritage traces back 75 years to the 1950 launch of the Vantage engine upgrade for the DB2, marking a long tradition of open-top Aston Martins.
Engineering Excellence
The Vantage Roadster was developed alongside the Vantage Coupe, ensuring both models share uncompromised performance and handling. Its 4.0-liter V8 engine benefits from larger turbochargers, revised camshaft profiles, and an optimized compression ratio, resulting in a power increase of 155 PS and 115 Nm compared to the previous Vantage Roadster. This immense power is managed by an eight-speed paddle-shift transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, delivering precision and agility.
An ultra-stiff aluminum structure, composite body panels, and a 49:51 weight distribution provide the ideal foundation for its suspension system. With double-wishbone front suspension, a multi-link rear axle, Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers, and bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires, the Vantage Roadster offers outstanding grip, steering feel, and confidence-inspiring balance.
Advanced electronic systems, including a six-axis sensor architecture and an adjustable traction control system, further enhance performance and safety. Drivers can choose from eight traction control settings, ranging from maximum intervention to full electronic freedom, tailoring the driving experience to road conditions or track demands.
The convertible’s innovative ‘Z-fold’ roof configuration minimizes weight and lowers the center of gravity. The roof operates in just 6.8 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph, making it the fastest fully automatic roof in its class. Despite its lightweight design, the roof’s eight layers of insulation ensure coupe-like refinement when closed.
Design and Customization
The Vantage Roadster retains the coupe’s striking aesthetics, featuring a widened stance, a larger grille for increased airflow, and seamless roof integration. New paint colors—Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire, and Bronze Flare—and four roof color options provide extensive personalization opportunities. Customers can also choose from 21 paint liveries, four wheel designs, and seven brake caliper colors.
Inside, the Vantage Roadster features Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system, first introduced in the DB12. The system includes a 10.25-inch Pure Black touchscreen with gesture control, physical switches for key functions, and full online connectivity. Standard audio comes from an Aston Martin 390-watt, 11-speaker system, with an optional Bowers & Wilkins system for audiophiles.
A Legacy of Performance
The Vantage Roadster continues Aston Martin’s tradition of innovation and performance. Its introduction coincides with the 20th anniversary of the 2005 V8 Vantage, the first Gaydon-built Aston Martin to bear the Vantage name as a standalone model.
Deliveries of the Vantage Roadster will begin in Q2 2025, joining the Vantage Coupe, DB12, DBX707, Vanquish, and the forthcoming Valhalla supercar in Aston Martin’s most comprehensive lineup to date.
Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin’s Chief Executive Officer, stated: “The Vantage Roadster is a fully reinvented experience, combining the coupe’s benefits with unparalleled roof-down thrills. It’s a class-leading sports car that redefines open-air driving.”
