GWM Philippines recorded its highest monthly sales total since launching in the country, delivering 262 units in September 2026 as demand for the Haval H7 plug-in hybrid SUV continued to drive growth.

The September tally surpassed the previous record of 232 units set in August, marking two consecutive months of record sales for the Chinese automotive brand. The latest result brings GWM Philippines’ year-to-date sales to 836 units.

According to the company, the Haval H7 remains the primary driver behind its recent performance. The plug-in hybrid SUV has attracted strong interest from Filipino buyers, helping GWM build momentum in an increasingly competitive local automotive market.

“Back-to-back record months tell us the demand for the Haval H7 is real and lasting,” said Dax Avenido, brand head of GWM Philippines.

Avenido added that buyers are choosing a plug-in hybrid SUV that combines capability and build quality with their everyday driving needs. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent sales performance for the remainder of 2026.

However, the strong demand has also created a supply challenge. GWM Philippines acknowledged that customer orders are outpacing available vehicle stocks, leaving some buyers waiting for their units.

The company said it aims to serve all affected customers within the year. It is coordinating with its dealer network to prioritize vehicle allocation and deliveries, although it did not specify how many customers remain on the waiting list or provide a detailed delivery schedule.

The back-to-back records suggest that the Haval H7 is helping GWM establish a stronger foothold in the Philippine market. Still, the brand’s ability to translate buyer interest into completed deliveries will be important as it works to sustain its growth.

With September sales already exceeding August’s previous high, GWM Philippines enters the final quarter of 2026 with positive momentum. Meeting customer orders on time could prove just as important as setting new sales records, particularly if demand for the Haval H7 continues to exceed available supply.

For now, the company’s immediate priority is clear: keep deliveries moving while building on the interest that has pushed its monthly sales to a new high.

Autocar’s Take

GWM Philippines’ September figures are encouraging, but the real test begins after the sale is recorded. The Haval H7 has traction with buyers, and two consecutive monthly records suggest interest is more than a brief spike. Still, customers waiting for their vehicles need clear timelines, not just sales announcements. Delivering orders as promised will help protect that momentum and build trust in the brand.

For the fast-growing Chinese brand, the next milestone should not simply be another monthly record; it should be showing that supply and after-sales support can keep pace with growing demand. That is how lasting growth is earned.
