Philippine auto sales went up in July 2026, according to the data shared by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA). CAMPI said that its member car brands reported total sales of 37,319 units for the month of July.
CAMPI added that the combined sales estimates from non-member car brands yielded 42,880 units sold, which is said to be the highest monthly sales yet for the year. CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza expressed that the organization is hopeful that the local automotive industry’s positive trend will continue for the rest of 2026.
“With this continuous growth, the industry is riding on a good momentum. We are hopeful that the positive trend will continue for the remainder of the year,” said CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza.
CAMPI added that while the demand for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles remains notable, July 2026 data shows an increase in unit sales for new energy vehicles. Year-to-Date numbers show a spike from 16,195 units sold in 2025 to 38,286 units sold in 2026. This shows that new energy vehicles, such as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid EVs (PHEVs), and hybrid cars, continue to gain momentum in the Philippine market.

In July 2026 alone, CAMPI data state that the total units sold of new energy vehicles account for 7,086. The breakdown for which is the following: 2,964 hybrid cars, 2,520 BEVs, and 1,672 PHEVs. The numbers show that BEVs continue to gain traction in the local market, as they yielded more sales than PHEVs.
VinFast is the top brand in the BEV category in July 2026 with 813 units sold. It is followed by Geely with 509 units sold in July 2026, while Omoda & Jaecoo takes the third spot with 428 units, GAC claims the fourth spot with 381 units, and Tesla completes the top five with 271 units sold in July 2026.
Of the CAMPI-TMA member brands, Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) leads July monthly sales at 17,797 units. It is followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) with 6,271 units, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI) with 1,689 units, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) with 1,256 units, and Ford Group Philippines, Inc. (FGP) with 1,152 units.

Autocar’s Take
The Philippine automotive industry is gaining momentum, as it recorded its highest monthly sales yet for the year, which is 42,880 units sold, a number based on the combined sales from CAMPI member and non-member car brands. Toyota still leads the local market in July, cornering 17,797 units sold, and its closest rival is Mitsubishi with 6,271 units sold. This shows that Toyota still has its foothold in the Philippines despite the emergence of new players, such as Chinese car brands and the likes of VinFast and Tesla.
