BYD Cars Philippines brought its electric mobility roadshow to Clark in Pampanga. Called the BYD Tech Tour, it is where the company also gave the public a special preview of the upcoming BYD Atto 2 DM-i ahead of its official Philippine launch.

Held at SM City Clark from June 19 to 21, the event showcased BYD’s growing lineup of electric and electrified vehicles while highlighting the brand’s efforts to expand awareness and adoption of new energy vehicles beyond Metro Manila.

One of the biggest attractions during the three-day showcase was the exclusive first look at the BYD Atto 2 DM-i. While the company kept key specifications and features under wraps, visitors were able to see the subcompact SUV in person before its official market introduction.

According to BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca, Clark was selected as a strategic location for the event because of its role as a gateway to Central Luzon and its growing importance in the country’s mobility landscape.

The BYD Tech Tour transformed part of the mall into an interactive display of the brand’s latest technologies. Visitors explored various exhibits, including technology modules, virtual reality experiences, and product displays designed to demonstrate the advantages of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The event also featured several of BYD’s best-selling models in the Philippines. On display were the BYD Seagull, BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, BYD Seal 5 DM-i, BYD Sealion 5 DM-i, BYD Tang DM-i, and the recently launched BYD Sealion 7. Product specialists were available throughout the event to answer questions and provide information about vehicle ownership, charging, and electrified mobility. Beyond static displays, attendees were given the opportunity to test-drive BYD vehicles, allowing potential buyers to experience the brand’s electric vehicle technology firsthand.

The successful staging of the BYD Tech Tour reflected the growing interest in electric vehicles in the Philippines as consumers are now exploring alternatives to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Backed by a nationwide network of 81 dealerships and expanding charging infrastructure, BYD continues to strengthen its presence in the local automotive market while promoting wider adoption of sustainable transportation solutions across the country.

Autocar’s Take

BYD’s Tech Tour Clark edition brings into focus a growing reality in the Philippine automotive market: interest in EVs is no longer confined to Metro Manila. By showcasing its EV lineup and offering a preview of the Atto 2 DM-i, the company is meeting consumers where they are and helping demystify electric mobility. Events like these matter because they allow potential buyers to see, touch, and drive the vehicles themselves. As EV infrastructure continues to expand nationwide, initiatives such as the BYD Tech Tour could play a significant role in accelerating EV adoption in the Philippines.
