Nissan has published a save-the-date post on X about an upcoming “new model” announcement. The Japanese car brand did not provide additional details or give any hints about what its new model could be.
Nissan did share that it will be announcing its new model via live streaming on its official YouTube channel on June 17, 2026, at 1 p.m. Japan Standard Time (12 noon PH time). Aside from this, Nissan has not given further clues as to what it will be launching next week. But, if we look back at the previous announcements by Nissan, the upcoming model could be the new Nissan Skyline.
Back in April, Nissan confirmed that a new Skyline is on the way and will be sold for the Japanese market. The automaker officially announced that a new Skyline will be arriving during its Vision event, held at the company’s global headquarters in Japan.

Nissan previously said that the Skyline is a driver-centric vehicle that delivers high performance and effortless control. It also symbolizes Japan’s advanced engineering, and Nissan aims to keep the Skyline as a vehicle that “continues to innovate with its driving performance and captivating appeal.”
It was also back in April when Nissan released official teaser images and a video for the new Skyline, which suggests that Nissan could be ready to launch the new model by next week. Based on the images and video that Nissan shared, it suggests that the new Skyline will come with a boxy or angular body, as well as the absence of the typical Nissan logo or emblem.
The teaser released in April also hinted that the new Skyline could come with a pair of aggressive-looking headlights that are mounted on an angular housing. The teaser also suggests that the new Skyline could have a slim front grille, while having a prominent bumper.
The new Nissan Skyline is also set to have round taillights, and we could also see that it could most likely come with a chiseled side profile, along with a Skyline emblem.
Could the “new model” that Nissan is teasing be the next Skyline? We will find out when Nissan makes its official announcement on June 17.

Autocar’s Take
Nissan announced that it will be launching a new model on June 17. But it has not given any clues as to what it will be launching. Its announcement post on X simply has the date, time, and online platform for when it will be making its announcement. This adds a layer of mystery for Nissan’s “new model.”
Now, if we look back at Nissan’s previous announcements, a strong candidate for the automaker’s mystery model is the new Skyline. Back in April, Nissan confirmed that a new Skyline is on the way and will be sold for the Japanese market. It has also released teaser images and a video featuring the new Skyline, which could suggest that Nissan could be debuting it by next week.
