The completion of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B has given a major boost to the country’s transport and logistics sector. With this in mind, logistic companies have noticed faster delivery times, improved reliability, and lower operational costs — immediate benefits of the new infrastructure.
Segment 3B serves as the final portion of the 7.7 km CAVITEX C5 Link expressway, fully connecting the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) to C5 Road in Taguig City. The project aims to ease congestion in key urban corridors while improving the movement of goods between Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
For logistics companies operating in today’s challenging economic conditions, the new route is seen as a practical solution to long-standing transport bottlenecks that often disrupt delivery schedules and raise operating expenses. One of the most significant improvements cited by transport operators is travel time reduction. Trips that previously took as long as one and a half hours can now reportedly be completed in as little as 15 minutes, allowing companies to maintain more predictable schedules and improve turnaround times.

According to Doris Torres, Executive Director of the Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association, Inc. (PMTLAI), the opening of Segment 3B has already improved daily transport operations for logistics providers. Torres went on to say, “The opening of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B eases up our daily transport movements, helping us keep up our delivery timelines and optimize our resources. We welcome infrastructure that eventually reduces the total cost of logistics in the country.”
Meanwhile, Arlyn Abello, Account Manager at Premier Global Logistics Corp. shared, “It has helped enhance the efficiency of our deliveries, allowing us to better meet our schedules and improve overall service reliability,”
Despite the project’s completion, portions of Segment 3B are currently operating under a modified traffic arrangement with two lanes in each direction while remaining right-of-way concerns are being resolved. The full development plan includes six lanes and a 2×2 service road configuration.
Autocar’s Take
The completion of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B underscores how infrastructure can directly impact businesses and everyday operations. For the logistics sector, time lost in traffic often translates to higher fuel costs, delayed deliveries, and added pressure on workers. A route that cuts travel time from over an hour to just minutes can significantly improve efficiency and reliability.
While some right-of-way issues still need to be addressed before the project reaches full capacity, the benefits are already being felt by transport operators. Projects like this highlight the importance of continuous infrastructure development in supporting economic activity and improving mobility across Metro Manila.
