BYD has revealed the third-generation Atto 3 at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, which comes with enhanced styling, as well as improved tech features. The next-gen Atto 3 debuted alongside the updated Seagull electric vehicle (EV), which features a revamped design, as well as longer EV driving range and smarter tech.
The Atto 3 EV is regarded as one of BYD’s global sales drivers, with more than 1.1 million units sold in 116 markets around the world. As one of its most popular global models, it is fitting to introduce a next-gen version at its home auto show in Beijing, China. The new BYD Atto 3 has a new exterior styling, which is mostly highlighted on the vehicle’s front end. As compared to the Atto 3 that’s currently sold in the Philippines, the next-gen BYD Atto 3 comes with a new front bumper design that makes the vehicle have a more commanding stance.
The headlights and daytime running lights remain similar to the current Atto 3 sold locally, but like the new Seagull, the next-gen Atto 3 is equipped with a Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor, mounted on the roof. The said LiDAR sensor is integrated with BYD’s God’s Eye B driver assistance system, which enables the Atto 3 to have smart, advanced tech that is designed to improve driving safety and comfort.

Turning at the side, the BYD Atto 3 comes with prominent fender flares, fender-mounted cameras, and straight character lines, which give the vehicle a crisp profile. The D-pilla, on the other hand, creates a ‘floating roof’ effect. BYD shared that the rear has new LED taillights, and the rear logo is illuminated.
Inside, the next-gen BYD Atto 3 has a new interior layout, which now looks more refined than the current model sold in the local market. It has a new two-spoke steering wheel design that’s mounted with buttons. The dashboard has a more streamlined finish, giving the third-gen Atto 3 a cleaner-looking cabin. BYD said that the new Atto 3 is bathed in natural light, thanks to a huge panoramic glass roof.
The next-gen Atto 3 has a total of 39 storage areas, as well as a 750-litre trunk and a 180-litre powered front trunk (frunk) that can be opened with a simple tap. It also has a 16-speaker audio system, a front passenger seat with extra reclining function for relaxing on longer journeys, an air-conditioner-powered refrigerator that can cool and heat items, a 50W wireless phone charging, 60W USB Type-C charging, and 256-colour ambient lighting.
In terms of EV driving range, the next-gen BYD Atto 3 can deliver up to 630 kilometers (CLTC) from its 68.5 kWh battery, and can generate 323 horsepower. Of note, the third-gen Atto 3 comes with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, which includes Flash Charging. The said feature reduces charging times to just a few minutes under ideal conditions.

Autocar’s Take
The third-gen BYD Atto 3 is integrated with essential updates that are meant to make it an even smarter, more efficient, and more stylish EV. The revised front end gives it a bolder stance, while the new interior layout gives the Atto 3 a more refined cabin that looks more premium compared to the unit currently sold in the Philippine market.
The addition of LiDAR sensor, as well as BYD’s second-gen Blade Battery are icing on the cake since the new Atto 3 doesn’t just come with a new design, but it is now also a smarter and more efficient EV.
