Lexus Philippines announced that it will launch two new vehicles this year: the all-new ES mid-sized sedan and the IS compact sports sedan. These two vehicles are confirmed to arrive in 2026, but Lexus Philippines has yet to release the exact launch dates of the two sedans.
The all-new Lexus ES mid-sized sedan was first introduced at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition back in April 2025. Debuting as the eighth-generation model, Lexus made the all-new ES’ debut notable by introducing the first ES battery-electric vehicle (BEV).
The all-electric ES is integrated with the new Lexus design concept dubbed Clean Tech x Elegance. The exterior took design cues from the Lexus LF-ZC concept, which features a bold presence with refined minimalism. The all-new Lexus ES comes with an assertive front end that’s complemented by daytime running lights and a large bumper. The side profile is both crisp and sleek, while the rear has distinctive taillights.

There are two variants of the ES BEV; the first is the ES 500e, which generates 343 horsepower, while the ES 350e produces 224 hp. Of note, the ES 550e comes with an all-wheel drive configuration, delivering up to 610 kilometers of range, while the front-wheel drive ES 350e has a range of around 685 kilometers.
The refreshed IS compact sports sedan will also be introduced in the Philippines in 2026. It was first launched in September 2025, featuring an updated front end that looks different from Lexus’ signature spindle grille. The new IS comes with a more aggressive front fascia that features a large grille along with an angular bumper and a pair of sharp-looking LED headlights.

The rear still comes with a similar design to its predecessor. It still has striking LED taillights along with a massive bumper that’s integrated with a black trim and dual exhaust. The Lexus F Sport trim comes with a rear spoiler for improved aerodynamic performance, along with optional red brake calipers. The F Sport trim also has 19-inch lightweight aluminum wheels.
Available in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the 2026 Lexus IS is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that produces 311 horsepower and 379 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel drive model uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the all-wheel drive version sends power through a six-speed automatic.

Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Philippines will also be introducing new vehicles this year, which include the following: Urban Cruiser, all-new RAV4, Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid, Land Cruiser FJ, and the all-new Hilux.
Autocar’s Take
Lexus Philippines will reinforce its sedan lineup with the confirmed arrival of the all-new ES and the refreshed IS. This news shows that sedans can still drive on, even in a country that’s fond of crossover vehicles and seven-seater SUVs.
The introduction of a fully electric ES is a meaningful shift for the said mid-sized sedan. It is also a testament to Lexus’ willingness to adapt to the ever changing automotive landscape. The updated IS, on the other hand, now comes with a more aggressive front end, which we find appealing as the IS becomes more assertive and has a more commanding presence.
Lexus PH has yet to announce the exact launch dates of the all-new ES and updated IS, as of this writing. But from the looks of it, the year 2026 will once again be busy for both Lexus and Toyota.
