Suzuki Philippines is looking to carry its momentum this year after posting a notable sales performance in 2025, yielding a total vehicle sales of 21,984 units. Riding on its momentum, Suzuki is possibly gearing up to join the electric vehicle (EV) competition with the eVitara.

This is after the eVitara is listed among the Department of Energy’s recognized EVs as of this writing. Based on the listing, the Suzuki eVitara could be offered in the local market with a lone variant, the GLX. The listing also provided a full spec sheet of the eVitara, which further signals that Suzuki Philippines could indeed be preparing to launch the said EV in the market soon.

The Suzuki eVitara is listed with a 61.1 kWh battery capacity, along with a powertrain that can generate 171 horsepower and 193 Nm of torque through a front-mounted electric motor. The eVitara supports AC and DC fast charging through its Type 2 CCS port.

The uploaded spec sheet also states that the Suzuki eVitara can go from zero to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 150 km/h. Being an all-electric vehicle, the data uploaded by Suzuki shows that the eVitara for the PH market will have a maximum range of 426 kilometers.

In terms of dimensions, the Suzuki eVitara measures 4,275mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,635mm tall, along with a wheelbase of 2,700mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 180mm as well as a seating capacity for five occupants, and a set of 18-inch wheels.

Other specs that we could expect in the upcoming Suzuki eVitara are the following: adaptive cruise control, wireless mobile phone charger, electric parking brake, 360-degree view camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.

In terms of safety features, the Suzuki eVitara for the local market is said to be packed with a lot of driver assist features, such as lane departure prevention, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, rear crossing traffic alert, and seven airbags (dual front, side, curtain, and knee). We can also expect that the Suzuki eVitara will come with the usual safety features such as an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, hill hold control, and electronic stability program, among others.

Since the eVitara is already listed among the DOE’s recognized EVs, Suzuki PH could launch its first-ever EV soon. The Japanese car brand has yet to issue an official announcement about it, but if we look into the calendar, Suzuki PH could preview or even launch the eVitara come April 2026 during the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Autocar’s Take

It seems that Suzuki Philippines is ready to launch its first-ever electric vehicle offering with the eVitara. This news comes after the inclusion of the Suzuki eVitara in the Department of Energy’s list of recognized EVs, which points towards an imminent Philippine debut. It also suggests that preparations are already in place, especially with a full spec sheet publicly available.

While not officially confirmed yet by Suzuki PH, the eVitara could have a max power of 171 hp and 193 Nm of torque, along with a max EV range of 426 km. Considering those numbers and the initial specs reported above, the eVitara could be a significant player or contender in the EV space, most especially if Suzuki PH gets the pricing right.
