Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) and Lexus Philippines have jointly initiated new customer satisfaction campaigns (CSC) affecting the respective brands’ minivan models, the Toyota Alphard and the Lexus LM. The move aims to address identified safety-related issues at no extra cost to owners.

The campaigns involve the replacement of the power distribution box (PDB) on affected units after a potential issue was identified involving the rear window defogger system. According to TMP, the concern stems from a terminal on the PDB that supplies power to the rear window defogger, which may have been installed in the wrong position during production.

If improperly positioned, the connection may be weak or absent, causing the rear window defogger to malfunction. This could result in reduced rear visibility when moisture or fog is present, particularly during adverse driving conditions.

For Toyota, the CSC applies exclusively to the Alphard, with a total of 89 affected vehicles in the local market. The units involved were produced between December 17 and December 24, 2024. TMP clarified that only the Alphard units produced within this specific production window are included in the campaign.

A similar CSC has been launched for the Lexus LM. This covers a total of 14 units produced between December 19 and December 25, 2024. Although fewer vehicles are involved, the level of technical concern mirrors that of the Toyota Alphard, as both models share a similar rear window defogger system connection routed through the PDB.

TMP said that all affected owners will receive an official notification letter, informing them of the CSC and inviting them to visit their respective authorized dealerships. For Toyota Alphard owners, the replacement of the PDB will be conducted only at Toyota’s authorized dealerships, while Lexus LM owners will be attended to by certified Lexus dealers. In both cases, the replacement will be carried out free of charge.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to promptly schedule an appointment with their respective Toyota or Lexus authorized dealers to have the necessary repair completed and to prevent potential visibility issues. TMP also noted that customers may opt to have the repair performed during their vehicle’s regular preventive maintenance service (PMS) if their maintenance schedule is due or approaching.

To assist in confirming eligibility, TMP has advised customers to check active service campaigns through the official Toyota and Lexus service campaign portals corresponding to their vehicle brand.
