In March this year, ACMobility, the official local distributor of BYD Cars Philippines, unleashed the Shark 6 DM-O, BYD’s entry in the hybrid and pickup segment. Available in base and advanced trims, the Philippine-spec Shark 6 DM-O comes in three available colors: Deep Sea Blue, Cosmos Black, and Aurora White.
While these color options make the Shark 6 DM-O look dapper, have you ever wondered what other colors could make it look super?
Well, over in Australia, BYD bumps up the style points of the Shark 6 DM-O by adding two new colors for the hybrid “ute” (an Australian term for a pickup). Aside from the black, white, and blue colors called Tidal Black, Great White, and Deep Sea Blue, respectively, BYD Australia recently added Outback Orange and Grey Mist to the choice.
At a glance, the Outback Orange adds a visual touch of power to the Shark 6 DM-O’s character. Its flaming hot hue and blacked-out trims evoke an active lifestyle that complements the vehicle’s masculine aesthetics. The Outback Orange paint also highlights the Shark 6 DM-O’s 1.5-liter gasoline engine and electric motor that puts out a combined output of 435 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the new Grey Mist paint and its default black trims emphasize the Shark 6 DM-O capabilities as a rugged machine for adventure seekers. The color blends well in the concrete jungle of the city, as well as the wild outdoors, like mountain passes and sand fields. It also highlights the machine as a capable all-wheel-drive vehicle for those who want some off-road challenge.
Drive says that aside from the new color options, BYD Australia has kept the rest of the Shark 6 DM-O’s specs as is.
