Dongfeng Motors Philippines has unveiled the Dongfeng E70 Pro, its first electric compact sedan aimed at the fleet segment.

Present at the launch, held at the company’s Ortigas showroom on July 15, 2025, were Mr. Wilbert Lim, President and CEO; Mr. Brennan Lim, Deputy CEO; Ms. Regina Singson Lim, Chief Finance Officer; Mr. Giovanni Frias, VP for Sales and Operations; along with dealer partners and stakeholders.

The Dongfeng E70 Pro, offered in one variant, has a spacious cabin, comfortable leather seats, a USB-A charging socket with air conditioning vents for the rear occupants, and a large luggage capacity of 502 liters.

It boasts a 420-kilometer range, powered by a 52.99 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery that drives a permanent magnet synchronous motor, putting out 120 hp and 230 Nm of torque.

Performance figures are impressive for a fleet vehicle. It can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 4.3 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. There are two selectable drive modes, Eco and Sport. It can fast charge from 30-80% in about 36 minutes, and when slow charged can charge to 100% in 8.5 hours. It has three levels of energy recovery and a maximum speed of 150 km/h.

The E70’s safety features are Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist System (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control (TCS), Hill Hold Control (HHC), Blind Spot Monitoring, and Intelligent Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS). Standard equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, three-point seatbelts for all occupants, seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX anchor points, and child safety doors.

Coincidentally, as fuel prices went up on the day of its launch, Dongfeng Philippines estimates that drivers can save up to P47.00 for every 6-7 km drive with the E70 Pro, which means that if you drive over 100,000 kilometers, savings can reach P783,349, which massively benefits both operators and drivers alike.

The Dongfeng E70 Pro is priced at P1,198,000 and with lower maintenance costs amounting to only P35,000 over five years, making it a cost-effective choice for a fleet vehicle and even for personal use.

TaxiKo EV was also introduced at the same event, utilizing the E70 Pro as its platform shows how electric vehicles can benefit on-demand transportation.

And to prove that there is growing interest in electric vehicles, 65 reservations were recorded for the Dongfeng E70 Pro on the day of the launch, and a vehicle was turned over to the first owner.

“Today, we are not just unveiling a new electric vehicle,” said Mr. Brennan Nathan Singson Lim during his opening remarks. “We are opening the doors to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable way of moving forward. The E70 Pro is our contribution to building a future where Filipino cities breathe cleaner air and Filipinos are empowered by reliable and intelligent mobility.”

Dongfeng Motors Philippines reassures Filipinos that its vehicles have been globally tested and its battery system has passed rigorous safety and durability tests, which include fire, water immersion, extrusion, and heat dissipation, ensuring that your every ride is backed by engineering that prioritizes safety, reliability, and peace of mind.
