Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast made its inaugural appearance at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), introducing its VF 6 subcompact SUV to the Philippine market and unveiling a comprehensive three-pronged strategy designed to support EV adoption in the country. The debut coincides with the surge in public interest in sustainable mobility, with MIAS setting a new attendance record of 170,900 visitors.
The VF 6 expands VinFast’s local portfolio, which already includes the VF 3, VF 5, VF 7, and VF 9 models. Positioned as a stylish and efficient city vehicle, the VF 6 is priced at PHP 1.419 million for the Eco variant and PHP 1.610 million for the Plus. It also comes with a segment-leading seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.
VinFast’s launch was met with enthusiasm among attendees. Among those who test-drove the VF 6 was professional basketball player Prince Rivero, who commended the vehicle’s performance and practicality for urban families. Flight attendant Aila Panganiban also praised the nearly 500-kilometer range offered by the VF 6 and VF 7 under the NEDC standard, noting their affordability and modern design.
Beyond product showcases, VinFast emphasized its commitment to removing key barriers to EV ownership through a strategic approach encompassing infrastructure, value retention, and financing:
- Charging Infrastructure – VinFast, in partnership with global charging operator V-GREEN, is offering free public charging at its stations until 2027. The partnership aims to establish 15,000 charging ports nationwide within the year, a major leap from the current 900+ stations available in the Philippines.
- Resale Assurance – A buyback program guarantees up to 90% of the vehicle’s original price, depending on ownership duration, providing customers with greater confidence in long-term value.
- Flexible Financing – VinFast has teamed up with BDO and EastWest Bank to offer competitive and accessible payment terms, addressing affordability concerns for first-time EV buyers.

The company is also accelerating its nationwide presence with over 60 showrooms planned and six distribution agreements already signed.
VinFast’s MIAS debut underscores its ambition to become a major player in Southeast Asia’s emerging EV market. With competitive pricing, strong aftersales programs, and a strategic approach to infrastructure and financing, the brand is positioning itself to convert growing interest in electric vehicles into real market momentum in the Philippines.
