Mober honored at 2nd KMC Startup Awards as EV green logistics pioneer

Mober, a leader in green logistics in the Philippines, was awarded two prestigious honors at the 2nd KMC Startup Awards held on November 15, 2024. The company received the Gold Sustainability Award for its groundbreaking efforts in transforming the logistics industry through electric vehicles (EVs). Mober also earned the Bronze Growth Champion Award, recognizing its rapid expansion and remarkable achievements in scaling sustainable logistics across the nation.

As transportation emissions in the Philippines are projected to soar by 2050, Mober is at the forefront of promoting sustainable transportation. Through its entirely electric vehicle fleet, Mober eliminates tailpipe emissions, improves air quality, and accelerates the shift toward a more sustainable logistics ecosystem.

Beyond environmental impact, Mober champions inclusivity, providing training to women drivers and assemblers. This reflects the company’s commitment to workforce diversity while ensuring that its Green Delivery Specialists (GDS), the EV drivers, uphold the highest standards of service and sustainability.

Since its inception in 2015, Mober has empowered small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to embrace sustainable logistics practices by offering EV rentals. In 2021, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Mober transitioned its fleet to EVs and quickly evolved into a business-to-business (B2B) platform for sustainable delivery. Today, the company serves retail giants like IKEA Philippines, SM Appliance Center, Nestlé Philippines, Nespresso, as well as global logistics leaders Maersk and Kuehne+Nagel.

Mober’s commitment to growth and sustainability has attracted significant investment. The company recently raised $2 million in seed funding led by RT Heptagon Holdings and secured an additional $6 million from Clime Capital under the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility II (SEACEF II). These investments will fuel Mober’s expansion, enabling it to grow its fleet to 238 EVs and build a new 3,000-square-meter charging facility by early 2025.

Mober’s operations have extended beyond Metro Manila, with new hubs established in key cities including Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and Legazpi. The 100% EV fleet now supports IKEA Philippines’ growth and meets the rising demand for sustainable logistics services nationwide. Mober’s eco-friendly solutions are helping lead the transition to a carbon-free future across the country.

“These accolades reflect our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability,” said Dennis Ng, Founder and CEO of Mober. “At Mober, we believe that growth and sustainability go hand in hand. We’re more motivated than ever to work towards a greener Philippines and beyond.”

Mober was among over 300 entries from startups across various sectors including fintech, agritech, logistics, healthcare, and construction, competing for recognition at the KMC Startup Awards. Now in its second year, the KMC Startup Awards has become a key platform for showcasing the most forward-thinking and innovative startups in the Philippines.

The event, held in partnership with Philippine Startup Week, Ideaspace | QBO, Kaya Founders, Web3PH, and Uniquecorn Strategies, concluded Philippine Startup Week 2024, which took place from November 11–15.

Mober’s recognition at the KMC Startup Awards follows its recent inclusion in Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch list, which highlights companies across the Asia-Pacific region demonstrating steady growth and innovation.
