Chevrolet PH gears up for something groovy. What could it be?

Chevrolet Philippines mystery car. To be launched on July 30

Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the folks from Chevrolet Philippines, appears to be up to something big, just as July 2025 wraps up its remaining days. This speculation stems from a teaser photo the brand just spread out, hinting an imminent arrival of a new model in its family.

The photo shows a mostly blacked-out silhouette of what seems like another crossover they’re hyping about. The mystery car exhibits a profile akin to that of the Chevrolet Trax. But the difference is that this new model appears more angular and sharper, as opposed to the Trax’s rounded out edges.

Just late last year, Chevrolet Philippines pulled the wraps of the All-New Captiva, another example that could fit the edgy silhouette of the mystery car in the photo. But the Captiva is relatively fresh and warm in the family. It wouldn’t make much sense for Chevy to slot in something new to its name.

As vague as the photo appears to be, we may have a lead to, sort of, ease the speculations ahead of July 30, the launch date for this new model Chevrolet Philippines says on its official Facebook post. Could this be the All-New Groove?

This thought came about after digging in the internet for some clues. We were led to a Mexican Chevrolet official website showing the Groove in all its compact crossover glory. If cross-referenced, the proportions of the mystery car and the Chevy Mexico Groove are nearly identical – sharp, edgy, angular, with a mix of round corners to balance it out. And the gleaming headlight of the mystery car seems to look closely identical, too.

In context, the Chevrolet Groove is the American bowtie brand’s entry in the subcompact crossover market. It is produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling, GM’s automotive brand affiliate in China, and is sold under the Chevrolet brand in parts of Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. It’s also known as the Wuling Alvez or the Wuling Xingchi in some regions.

Do keep in mind that, despite what we’ve seen, Chevrolet Philippines is still vague about whether it’s indeed the Groove they’re going to launch soon. All we can hold on to is a quote from HARI Vice Chairman, President, and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, which said, “It’s not just about getting from point A to B—it’s about finding your rhythm. And with Chevrolet, you’re always in the groove.”
