The Honda Prelude continues to flex its popularity in its home country, as it has not only garnered a ton of reservations from the Japanese market but has also been awarded a prestigious accolade.
Honda announced that the Prelude has been awarded the 2025-2026 Japan Automotive Hall of Fame Car Design of the Year award, breaking the streak that Toyota once held since 2022. The Japan Automotive Hall of Fame (JAHFA) is a non-profit organization that was established to recognize the achievements of people or a company that contributed to the development of the Japanese automobile industry.
The all-new Honda Prelude’s design is inspired by the image of gliders soaring freely and boundlessly through the open sky. The Japanese automaker said that the Prelude is developed under the grand concept of “Unlimited Glide,” which aims to make the vehicle appear that it is gliding gracefully through the open road. Honda also made the all-new Prelude to offer an extraordinary experience to the people who will get on board the vehicle.

Honda Creative Director Hideaki Uchino, the individual behind the all-new Prelude’s design, shared that the Prelude is a vehicle designed “to be a car that can create special joy even when just two people are together.” Uchino added that the all-new Honda Prelude is a car that will “inspire many people and change their lives. As the name ‘Prelude’ suggests, it represents next-generation design.”
The all-new Prelude’s sharp front end is enough to make someone stop and stare. The seemingly smooth and calm fascia is complemented by expressive body lines that give the vehicle a sleek look. It is finished off with a low and wide stance as well as a clean roofline, making the all-new Prelude have a confident demeanor.

Inside, it is fitted with a two-tone interior color of blue and white. Honda said that the interior design evokes a sense of exclusivity through its fine detailing, such as the softly shaded white surface material, embroidered Prelude logo, and blue stitching.
Indeed, one can argue that the all-new Honda Prelude sure knows how to make a solid comeback. Fortunately, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has already confirmed that the Prelude is coming to the country. The only question now is: when?
