Mugen has released a limited-edition body kit called “Spec.III” for the Honda Prelude. The Spec.III kit package is so rare that Mugen will produce only 16 examples of it, making it a highly coveted gem, especially for Honda enthusiasts.
For context, the Spec.III is the successor of the Spec.II body kit that Mugen did for the third-generation Prelude back in 1987. Now that the Prelude is back in production after 24 years, Mugen saw fit to release the Spec.III body kit, a move that totally made sense since the Prelude’s comeback was received positively by the market, which even prompted Honda dealerships in Japan to stop accepting orders for the said vehicle.
The Mugen Spec.III body kit includes aero parts and a sports exhaust system developed for the Prelude. It also comes with exclusive side decals featuring colors such as silver, red, gold, and black. Mugen said that the Spec.III body kit for the Honda Prelude is priced at JPY 1,650,000 (around P619,500). But, to make things interesting, Mugen will be raffling off the 16 individuals who will own the limited edition Spec.III for the Prelude.
Mugen is now already accepting applications for individuals who want to be part of the Spec.III’s sweet 16. The company said that applications are open until February 27, 2026, with the 16 winners to be announced on March 19. Mugen added that the shipping for the Spec.III kit for the Honda Prelude will begin on June 19.

On the other hand, Mugen has also released a list of general aero kits for the Prelude, which can be availed by individuals who are not eyeing to be part of the Spec.III’s sweet 16. Mugen shared that the newly released Prelude aero parts include a carbon front under spoiler, carbon side garnish, carbon rear under spoiler, and carbon rear under diffuser. A carbon tailgate spoiler is also available to add a sporty accent to the tail design.
The Mugen performance parts lineup for the Prelude includes a sports exhaust system, which is said to deliver a “powerful, impressive sound and deep bass from low to high rpm, this system delivers a more linear and uplifting sound when used with the Honda S+Shift.” Deliveries for the aero kits and performance parts will start on April 24, 2026, according to Mugen.
