MOVE IT celebrated the exceptional contributions of its 16 top-performing rider-partners during the recently concluded MOVE IT Day 2024, held at the PhilSports Arena. These outstanding riders, recognized as this year’s Papugay Awardees, embody MOVE IT’s core values of integrity, respect, and commitment to safety and quality service.

The Papugay Awards highlighted the annual year-end celebration, which brought together thousands of rider-partners and their families for a day filled with excitement. The event featured photo booths, games, raffles, comedy shows, a talent competition, a rock concert, and free motorcycle maintenance services.

To qualify for the prestigious Papugay Awards, rider-partners must achieve outstanding booking completion rates, maintain high customer ratings, follow safe driving practices, and receive positive feedback from passengers.

Inspiring Stories of Papugay Awardees

The event spotlighted the stories of four awardees who exemplified resilience and dedication.

Cyrus Panopio, 38, has reached the elite “Alamat” rider tier, enjoying monthly incentives like grocery vouchers and gas money. His earnings from MOVE IT supplement his small business and help provide for his family, including his three sons’ education. “MOVE IT gives me the flexibility to manage my time for my livelihood, business, and family,” Panopio shared.

Benjie Boladas Bechayda, 33, transitioned from a 12-hour security guard job to becoming a full-time MOVE IT rider, doubling his income while spending more time with his family. He now plans to build a home for his growing household.

Merry Ann Paz, 29, a single mother of two, overcame initial safety concerns to thrive as a female rider-partner. MOVE IT’s road safety training and security features empowered her to succeed in her role while juggling family responsibilities.

Merlani Lacson, 45, a former ambulance driver, now finds fulfillment as a moto taxi rider, balancing her work hours with time spent raising her teenage children.

MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto expressed his gratitude: “To every MOVE IT rider-partner, thank you for your dedication and hard work in delivering safe and reliable service to Filipino commuters. Your efforts make a difference in the lives of thousands of passengers every day. Together, we are building a safer and more efficient transport system while helping you achieve your dreams. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.”
