Mober, a leading provider of green logistics services in the Philippines, has earned a spot on Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch List for 2024. This prestigious recognition underscores Mober’s significant impact in the logistics industry and its consistent financial growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
The *Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch List* for 2024 highlights companies and startups that have demonstrated remarkable growth, even as venture capital funding in the region experienced a seven-year low last year. These companies have been noted for their ability to navigate challenging economic climates while maintaining innovative business models and robust growth trajectories.
This year, Mober secured an additional $6 million in funding from the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility II (SEACEF II), managed by Clime Capital. This new investment follows a $2 million funding round from RT Heptagon Holdings (RTHH) last year, underscoring Mober’s appeal to impact-driven investors and advancing its mission to provide sustainable, eco-friendly logistics solutions throughout the Philippines.
Mober is one of only three companies from the Philippines to make it to this year’s list and is among the five companies from the construction and logistics industry recognized. To qualify for the list, companies must be privately owned, for-profit, and headquartered in the Asia-Pacific region, with annual revenue not exceeding $50 million and total funding of no more than $100 million as of August 7, 2024.
Dennis Ng, CEO of Mober, expressed his appreciation for the recognition, stating, “This recognition underscores the global importance of our mission in sustainable logistics. At Mober, we remain steadfast in our commitment to helping businesses achieve net-zero carbon emissions with zero capital expenditures, paving the way for a greener future.”
Founded in 2015, Mober initially set out to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) solve their on-demand logistical needs. In October 2021, amidst the economic uncertainty brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mober made a bold move by investing in its first electric vehicle (EV) fleet, becoming a trailblazer in the green logistics movement in the Philippines. Today, Mober has evolved into a business-to-business (B2B) platform that facilitates sustainable delivery for some of the country’s largest retail giants, including IKEA Philippines, SM Appliance Center, Nestle Philippines, and Nespresso, as well as global logistics leaders like Maersk and Kuehne+Nagel.
Currently, Mober operates a fleet of over 60 electric vehicles, including e-vans and e-trucks, with an ambitious plan to expand to 238 electric trucks by the end of the year. This expansion is part of Mober’s strategic vision to lead the transition toward sustainable logistics solutions in the region.
To enhance the performance and efficiency of its EV fleet, Mober has invested in its proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) software. This advanced technology optimizes battery usage, improves safety, gathers real-time data for superior fleet management, and extends battery lifespan. The BMS investment solidifies Mober’s commitment to sustainability and ensures the seamless scalability of its operations as the company continues to expand its fleet.
Earlier this year, Mober also announced the development of an advanced Transport Management System (TMS) designed to optimize fleet route planning and delivery schedules. This system enhances resource management while significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon output, further cementing Mober’s position as a leader in green logistics.
In addition to its environmental initiatives, Mober is dedicated to promoting inclusivity and diversity within its workforce. The company has launched programs to train female drivers and assemblers, demonstrating its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Mober’s Green Delivery Specialists (GDS), comprising its skilled EV drivers, exemplify the company’s high standards of service and sustainability.
Looking ahead, Mober is set to establish a network of charging stations strategically positioned every 150 to 200 kilometers, from Pasay City to Tacloban. This infrastructure development is critical to supporting the company’s vision of sustainable logistics across the Philippines and aligns with the mandates of the Electric Vehicles and Charging Systems (EVIDA) Act.
Mober’s initiatives not only support the Philippines’ commitment to eco-driven policies but also provide businesses with a clear pathway to decarbonize their last and mid-mile delivery systems. Through its pioneering approach, Mober is ushering in a new era of business sustainability, setting a benchmark for green logistics in the Asia-Pacific region.
