HondaPH renews partnership with DOST-SEI, empowering youth

Limay Senior High School

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) reaffirms its dedication to empowering the youth by continuing its partnership with the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) for the 7th iteration of the “imake.wemake:create.innovate.collaborate” event. This collaboration underscores HCPI’s commitment to fostering innovation and creativity among young Filipinos.

The event challenged participants to study and address pressing issues faced by Filipino communities, encouraging them to develop science-driven solutions with tangible impacts. After months of concept-mapping, intensive training, and dedicated project development, the competition culminated in the Final Presentation held at Citadines Bay City Manila, Pasay City, on July 25-26, 2024. This marked the last stage for the top 20 schools that invested significant effort in bringing their ideas to life.

During the closing ceremony, DOST-SEI recognized three (3) schools with the prestigious Youth Innovation Prize (YIP) Award. These schools were selected based on criteria such as novelty and patentability, functionality and unique selling points, collaboration, design and feasibility, extensibility, and practicability.

Engr. Albert G. Mariño, Director of DOST-SEI, praised the students for their hard work and innovation, reminding them that their efforts today are laying the groundwork for a better tomorrow.

Honda Cars Philippines shares this belief in the power of youth and is honored to support events like imake.wemake:create.innovate.collaborate. HCPI strongly believes in the importance of nurturing young minds to drive sustainable and meaningful change. As Soichiro Honda, one of Honda’s founders, was once a young innovator himself, HCPI recognizes the potential of today’s youth to contribute significantly to solving contemporary challenges.

He taught us that no matter how difficult the challenges, you have the ability to create, the freedom to innovate, and the time to collaborate. Regardless of the outcome, take pride in your participation today. Continue to invent the future for the next generations.”
