Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is determined to end the year on a strong note, as it plans to showcase another vehicle before 2025 comes to a close. This completes Toyota PH’s hat trick of introducing a new vehicle, which was kick-started by the Ativ HEV, to be followed by the bZ4X BEV and the GR Corolla.

TMP shared a teaser image of a mystery vehicle that will be the star of its Gazoo Racing (GR) Trackday, happening in the third week of December. However, Toyota PH did not openly confirm that the mystery vehicle would be the GR Corolla. However, the shadowy teaser image suggests that it could indeed be the GR Corolla, as indicated by the vehicle’s overall silhouette, as well as its front grille and bumper design.

Globally, the Japanese automaker integrated improvements to the GR Corolla, which include an increase of 30 Nm of torque compared to the previous model.

Toyota said that this allows the updated GR Corolla to have better acceleration, and it essentially raised the vehicle’s maximum torque to 400 Nm. The increased torque complements the GR Corolla’s power output delivery, which is rated at 300 horsepower. In case you’re wondering, it is equipped with a 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine.

Toyota added that the GR Corolla is equipped with the newly developed eight-speed Gazoo Racing Direct automatic transmission. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) has also been improved to create a safe and secure vehicle with the highest tolerance possible even when driving at the limit, according to Toyota.

Other improvements made to the GR Corolla are the revised suspension components, wherein the automaker’s engineers added rebound springs to the front and rear suspension to have better traction during hard cornering.

Toyota PH has yet to share more details about the GR Corolla, such as the local specs and pricing. But one thing’s for sure, Toyota is indeed ending 2025 on a positive note.
