Filipino buyers eager to get behind the wheel of the updated Nissan Kicks e-Power no longer have to wait for its official debut to secure one. Nissan Philippines has begun accepting reservations for the refreshed electrified crossover, signaling that its local arrival is just around the corner.
While pricing and the final specifications remain under wraps, the reservation period offers an early glimpse of what customers can expect from one of Nissan’s most popular electrified models.
The biggest changes center on the cabin and technology. The updated Kicks adopts a more modern dashboard layout highlighted by a larger infotainment display and a fully digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are expected to be available, giving drivers a more seamless smartphone integration experience.
One of the most notable additions is NissanConnect, which brings connected vehicle functions to the Kicks for the first time in the Philippines. Through a companion smartphone app, owners will be able to monitor vehicle information remotely and access select convenience features even when away from the vehicle.
Underneath the updated styling, the Kicks continues to rely on Nissan’s e-Power drivetrain. Unlike a conventional hybrid, the gasoline engine does not directly drive the wheels. Instead, it serves as a generator that produces electricity for the battery and electric motor, allowing the crossover to deliver the smooth and immediate response associated with electric vehicles while eliminating the need to plug in.
Power output is expected to remain at 136 hp and 280 Nm of torque, figures that have helped make the Kicks one of the more engaging electrified crossovers in its segment.
Beyond the powertrain, the refreshed model is also expected to receive additional driver assistance technologies. Depending on the variant, buyers may see features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, a surround-view camera system, and other advanced safety technologies. Nissan has yet to announce the complete Philippine specification sheet.
