Green GSM, Southeast Asia’s first all-electric ride-hailing platform developed by Vietnam’s Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), was recognized with the Green Leadership Award at the 2025 Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) in Bangkok. The award highlights Green GSM’s significant contributions to advancing sustainable transportation in Vietnam and its efforts to expand an innovative green mobility model across Southeast Asia.
Established in 2011 by Enterprise Asia, AREA is one of the region’s most respected awards programs, promoting sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility in business. This year’s theme, “A Necessary Shift to a Regenerative Economy,” underscores the need for companies to create lasting, positive environmental impact.
Green GSM earned its distinction through a scalable and inclusive approach to electrifying urban transport. The company operates its own electric vehicle fleet and extends its reach through the Xanh SM platform, which enables individual VinFast EV owners to join its ride-hailing service. In addition, GSM has partnered with traditional taxi operators in select international markets to support their transition to electric mobility. While these services are not yet active in the Philippines, they are a core part of the company’s strategy in other markets.
“Sustainability at Green GSM goes beyond corporate strategy. It shapes our decisions, our culture, and how we grow,” said Ms. Phan Thi Hong Dung, Director of Training and Culture Development at GSM. “We believe a sustainable business is one where everyone—from driver to customer—embraces green values in daily life. This award recognizes our collective effort to promote more responsible urban living across Asia.”
The award is a major milestone in Green GSM’s ongoing “Go Green Global” campaign. More than just a corporate recognition, it reflects Vietnam’s emerging leadership in green innovation and its potential to contribute scalable solutions to global environmental challenges.
In just two years, Green GSM has expanded into Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines, completing over 300 million zero-emission trips and covering 1.7 billion kilometers. The estimated CO₂ reduction totals 211,000 tons—equivalent to the annual absorption capacity of about 3,200 hectares of forest.

In Vietnam, GSM leads the electric taxi market with nearly 40% market share and partnerships with close to 100 local transport providers. Major names such as G7 Taxi, Mai Linh, Lado Taxi, and En Vang have begun the transition, with 19 companies fully electrifying their fleets. The shift positions electric transport not as an alternative, but as the new benchmark for modern mobility.
Green GSM is now the second-largest ride-hailing brand in Southeast Asia and the only one operating entirely with electric vehicles. The company officially launched its service in Metro Manila on June 10, 2025, bringing its experience and vision to a new market.
