Richard Mille is one of the world’s best name in watchmaking. His success is anchored on three crucial elements – best technical innovation, best of artistry and architecture, and the best of the heritage and culture of fine watchmaking with hand finishing. McLaren of course is one of the worlds best supercar/hypercar makers with their technologies being picked up by many auto companies as base components.
Together, the two top players in their corresponding fields collaborated to create this timepiece that is now being celebrated at the 2018 Geneva International Auto Show. McLaren Design Director Rob Melville and Richard Mille engineer Fabrice Namura came together for their very first watch collaboration – the RM 11-03 McLaren Automatic Flyback Chronograph.
The new RM 11-03’s design has strong influences from the look of McLaren cars like the 720S and the F1 model. It uses Carbon TPT, carbon fiber, silica fiber, white gold, titanium and rubber as material for its build. It is run by a RMAC3 caliber movement with a 55-hour power reserve.
A limited-edition production, the RM 11-03 is limited to only 500 models and will first be available to McLaren Ultimate Series clients and those who purchase the corresponding vehicle.
