The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has released an advisory regarding the roads that will be affected by the ASEAN Summit route dry run to be held on October 15, 2017 Sunday.

The dry run will be a practice for the convoy that will happen when the 31st ASEAN Summit is held in the country this coming November.

The roads to be affected are the following:

  • Southbound lanes ng Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX)
  • North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)
  • South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Skyway
  • EDSA
  • Buendia Extension
  • J. W. Diokno Boulevard
  • Roxas Boulevard

Also affected are some streets in Makati, Taguig, Pasay and Manila.

MMDA executive Emmanuel Miro is encouraging the public to avoid the affected routes and start looking for alternate routes if they have to go anywhere near or around the concerned areas.

Miro has also asked for advanced apology from those motorists, commuters and other people who may be inconvenienced by the dry run.

Miro said the dry run is part of the security preparations for the summit. Heads of states of the various country members of ASEAN are expected to arrive next month including US President Donald Trup who has confirmed his trip to Manila.
