There Will Only Be 108 Each Of These Two Alfa Romeo Nurburgring Edition

Alfa Romeo, the newest entry to the Formula One 2018 Season is not waiting to win any races before launching any models. This year, their 108th (yes that badge is more than a century old) Alfa Romeo is looking to build a limited edition of 216 units of what they call the “NRING” models for two of their best cars, the Stelvio Quadrifolgio and the Guilia Quadrifolgio.

Each model will have 108 units made, one unit for each year of Alfa Romeo’s history, and will be called the “Nurburgring” Editions. This special Nurburgring Edition celebrates the SUV capable of doing a lap of the legendary circuit in 7 minutes 51.7 seconds, the fastest time ever in its class and the record-holding standard production four-door saloon recording with a lap time of 7 minutes 32seconds.

Stelvio holds the record for the fastest SUV in its segment, with a lap time of 7 minutes, 51.7 seconds, equipped with the 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine delivering 510hp and 600Nm of torque, powering on to a top speed of 176mph and acceleration from zero to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds. Giulia Quadrifoglio is the record-holder for standard production four-door saloon, with a lap time of 7 minutes 32seconds. achieved thanks to its superlative handling, top speed of 191mph and acceleration from zero to 62mph in 3.9 seconds.

Just 108 of each model will be made for collectors and the most loyal Alfa Romeo customers. The new limited editions have exclusive contents, including a numbered badge in the carbon fibre dashboard insert and a Circuito Grey livery, exclusive to this limited edition.

Building on the standard Quadrifoglio specification, the “NRING”special series includes carbon-ceramic brakes, Sparco racing seats with red stitching and carbon shell structure, Mopar® automatic transmission knob with carbon insert, leather and Alcantara steering wheel with carbon inserts as standard. The front badge and the mirror caps are made of carbon fibre, like the side skirt inserts, while tinted windows, active cruise control, Harman Kardon premium audio package, and AlfaTM Connect 3D Nav infotainment system with 8.8-inch screen, Apple CarPlayTM, Android AutoTM and DAB complete the package. The Giulia version also includes a new bare carbon roof.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Ti, equipped with 280hp turbo petrol engine combined with 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive (available with RWD in UK), will also make its debut. The time-honoured “Ti” badge, standing for “Turismo internazionale”, has always been reserved for the most lavishly equipped, extreme versions.

The Giulia Ti, presented in Racing Red livery, is the most exclusive version in the range, combining the Giulia Veloce’s sporty flavour with an even more alluring style, enhanced standard equipment and the very latest technology. A contrasting black roof, leather dashboard with carbon inserts and leather and Alcantara seats with black stitching combine with carbon details, including backlit kick plates with Alfa Romeo logo, the “V” of the front cloverleaf, gear knob insert and mirror caps. The side skirts with carbon insert and the rear spoiler are inspired by the Quadrifoglio and the 19-inch burnished alloy 5-spoke wheels with red brake callipers are a nod to Alfa Romeo’s racing heritage.

The standard equipment list is completed by the Alfa™ Connect 3D infotainment system with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and 8.8-inch 3D navigation system with DAB, active cruise control, tinted windows and the Harman Kardon premium audio package.

These models can be seen at the Alfa Romeo stand at the ongoing Geneva International Auto Show from March 8-18, 2018.
